An excellent way to spend the afternoon - This was one of our favorite activities on our honeymoon trip to Tokyo. Tomoko-san is super friendly and kind. She is a very skilled teacher and our limited Japanese language skills were not a problem at all! It was nice to be able to escape the busier parts of the city and see this beautiful neighborhood. The food was delicious and plentiful! What an excellent memory! If you're on the fence, just book it!

Great food and a wonderful peek into everyday life in Japan with two fun ladies! - Tomoko and her wingwoman Junko met us at the Todoroki train station exactly as planned. Having experienced some of Tokyo’s massive train stations we were worried about finding her but Todoroki station is tiny and impossible to hide in. The walk to Tomoko’s house through the peaceful Todoroki valley was beautiful and spoiled only by the fact that her Sunshine Spell didn’t work…but we appreciated the effort. The gardens were lovely and there was a small temple/shrine. After a short walk to her home we started cooking and laughing. Both Tomoko and Junko were delightful company. They had prepared some of the ingredients for ramen and gyoza in advance but left plenty for us to do. Despite our rather ham handed help the results were amazing and plentiful. We couldn’t finish everything even with beer and plum wine to wash it down. All in all a wonderful and fun experience. Don't hesitate! This was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan.

Must do!!! - OMG, this so far is our best experience of our trip. Tomoko is so pleasant and kind. The meal was delicious especially all the little side dishes. Even my picky daughter loved the side dishes which she normally wouldn’t have had eaten. The stroll through the park on the way to her house was so peaceful and beautiful. Don’t hesitate, book your class with her. This is better then any tourist attractions.

A Worthwhile Experience - What a wonderful experience! Tomoko was the perfect host for this 3 hour cooking class and nature hike for our family of three. Not only do you learn how to cook the delicious food, Tomoko has such a wonderful demeanor and kind personality that you immediately feel you've known her your whole life. So here is our experience - before our class, she contacted me to ask what type of food we were interested in cooking. We also arranged a meeting place right by the train station exit. When we met up, we walked to a quaint shrine and river area that was so picturesque. Even though it was raining, it was still so beautiful. We then walked to her house where she served up some tea and snacks. We then got to cooking. You can tell she put so much effort and detail in preparing the ingredients for each dish. It was fun learning how to cook all the dishes while having great conversation at the same time. My 15 year-old son can now cook a number of dishes for us, which is a big plus! When all the dishes were ready, we got to sit down and enjoy the meal at a beautifully appointed table with some really gorgeous dishware. I would highly recommend this class if you are looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of a busy city with a real Japanese style home-cooked meal in a warm and friendly environment. Thank you, Tomoko, for one of our more memorable moments in Tokyo!

Best part of my Tokyo trip! - Tomoko was a great instructor and a great person. She was full of energy and generous hospitality. She taught the class with passion and energy, and showed us what an authentic Japanese food should look like. The cooking class was full of laugh and cheerful atmosphere. Food connects all of us together and we got along very well which made the food/experience more unforgettable. I highly recommend this to everyone who wants to experience a typical but also real/authentic Japanese lifestyle. You won’t regret!

10/10 will book again next time in Tokyo - This was easily our favorite meal in Japan. Tomokita is an amazing chef & teacher. She even accommodated a vegetarian option last minute for myself, and traditional ramen & gyoza for my partner. We had so much fun with her & really enjoyed her homemade plum wine as well. I'm looking forward to returning to Tokyo to take another class with her in the future!

If you love food it’s a must have experience when visiting the Tokyo area - If you love Japanese food and having a great time this is for you, starting with the tour of Todoroki valley park which has a fantastic view, followed by a very fun cooking class, which I must say, the recipes are fantastic, it didn’t matter I wasn’t a good cook it tasted fantastic nonetheless, and all this is possible because Tomoko San is not only a fantastic host and great teacher but a person you could talk to for hours, me and my wife had a great time and will come back again for sure.

Unique & Local Japanese Cooking Experience - Tomoko was incredibly kind, welcoming, and caring. The walk through the Valley was a beautiful prelude to the cooking class. Tomoko made us feel very well come in her home, and had put special effort into prepping the specific meals we had requested (vegan and non-vegan ramen). As the lesson began, Tomoko’s passion for cooking and for sharing her knowledge came across incredibly clearly. She had also printed out the recipes for us to look at during the cooking process, which was very helpful. The food all turned out wonderfully, and we had a very fun time sharing the meal together. If you are looking for a unique, local experience in Tokyo I cannot recommend the class enough!

So pleasent - What a lovely experience. Our host was so pleasant, her home very welcoming with an extra touch of western Christmas for this time of year. It was an informative lesson not just on food immaculately prepared but conversations around Japanese culture and family life as well. I appreciated all those tips you just will never get out a cook book. Thank you so much.
