A wonderful day in Pamukkale, Hierapolis, and Cleopatra's pool - Turkey! - Went on tour from port in Kusadasi where our ship docked for the day. Left at 9am, back at 8pm. Our tour guide was Mert. He was terrific! Our driver was Mustafa, and they are quite a team. Mert knows his history, and he kept us informed of our surroundings and the history of what we were seeing/going to see all during the drive, which thanks to Mustafa, was very pleasant and smooth, and didn't seem long. Pamukkale had been on my bucket list for many years, and it certainly didn't disappoint. We were delighted to spend the day there and would love to go back. Mert gave us plenty of time to explore the pools on our own, and luckily for us. the place was not terribly busy with visitors, which made it very special. After the pools we walked up to Hierapolis with Mert. He took us up to the top of the theater for wonderful views, and he explained what we were looking at, and pointed out places of interest. After this, we visited Cleopatra's pool. I went in and it was delightful after walking about for quite a while. The water was lovely and warm, and it was very relaxing. We stopped for a meal in town and Mert introduced us to yummy Turkish food. All in all, it was a beautiful, terrific day, mainly thanks to Mert, who's bright, witty, very well informed, and was very friendly, yet very respectful. This tour is not inexpensive, but worth every penny, and we highly recommend it. Crowded House Ephesus was the tour operator, they offer tours all over Turkey, and we look forward to using them again. My only disappointment was that according to legend, when Cleopatra swan in the pool she came out looking younger as she'd lost 10 years; I only lost five, so need to go back to lose another five!

Excellent experience - Beautiful experience in wonderful places, especially the ruins of Ephesus and the pool of Pamukkale. We covered everything in two days. We had Azer as our guide. She and the driver gave us an excellent experience from leaving the hotel to returning. Azer is a great guide, he speaks Spanish very well and gave us a great class on the history of the places.

Cleopatra's pool was amazing - This tour was okay just average. The biggest problem we had was our guide Merv she was young inexperienced and did not do a lot of very well informed delivery. Also this was a dual tour of both Spanish and English so there were two guides at the bus and she left us at one point and we did not know what was happening. Swimming or lounging and Cleopatra's pool was absolutely amazing if you take this tour highly recommend that you take your bathing suits or swimmers with you and go into the pool it is so refreshing please note that the bottom is all rocks so you might want to consider wearing some aqua shoes otherwise your feet might get a little sore
