As a former professor of European history, my fascination with ancient civilizations has always been profound. The opportunity to explore Ephesus, a city that once stood as a beacon of culture and commerce in the ancient world, was an irresistible lure. Our journey began with a seamless pick-up from the Kusadasi Cruise Port, where we were greeted by our guide, Nor, and our driver. The drive to Ephesus was filled with anticipation, and as we approached the site, the remnants of this once-great city began to reveal themselves.

Ephesus, with its grand amphitheater and the Library of Celsus, stood as a testament to the architectural prowess of the ancient Romans. Nor, our guide, was a fountain of knowledge, weaving tales of the city’s past with an eloquence that brought history to life. As we made our way back to the ship, I reflected on the day’s experiences, grateful for the insights and memories that would linger long after our return home.
