Awesome way to honor the sacrifice - These gentlemen show true honor and passion for what they're doing, educating and informing the public about the history and efforts of their grandfather and others who played such a significant role in our history as Americans. It was touching and I'm grateful that I had the opportunity

Must Do in Selma - This experience was on the third day of our Civil Rights tour in Alabama. Our tour guides, Allan and MJ, grandsons of FD Reese, literally opened their family home to us and their hearts as they shared not only Selma's history on voting rights, but their grandfather's pivotal organizing role in lifting up the Selma community. They underscored the importance of individuals in organizing on a grassroots level in their community. These individuals are everywhere and need to be acknowledged. You won't want to miss this unbelievably powerful experience.

YOU WILL LEARN A LOT! - Selma has so much history! And driving/walking around with Alan and Marvin was an easy way to learn a LOT! The F.D. Reese Historical Tour is a MUST for anyone interested in the history of the Civil Rights Movement. We came from Los Angeles and San Diego to visit Selma. It was an honor to spend time with Marvin and Alan and learn the story of their grandfather, Frederick D. Reese ... a powerful, yet humble leader. The Historical Tour was the absolute highlight of our visit.

A Wonderful Experience - Although there were only the two of us for this tour, Allen met us at his grandfather's home and gave us the complete history, showed us the pictures and memorabilia, and then took us around the town to the sites so important in shaping the civil rights struggle in Selma. A wonderful experience.

African American Bucket List "MUST DO" - There are times in life when you question a choice and times when you know you hit the nail on the head; taking this tour was a "hitting the nail on the head" experience. Alan Reese was a wealth of knowledge and took the time to pour out all that he could from the time we arrived. He shared about his grandfather, FD Reese, Dr. King, the slave trade, and much more. This was a most enriching experience. Learning about the history of Selma, the teacher's march, and Pettus Bridge from Alan's insight was icing on the cake! Alan was patient with our group - who all had memories of the Civil Rights Era - as they shared information. This is a stop that should be on every African American's bucket list!!!

Very highly recommended - It was amazing. Two really good guys who explain the history about black rights in Selma trough the figure of his grandfather. Also, they can compare the evolution to the civil rights and discuss about actual achievements of Selma's community and black reividications.
