DIVE.IS Meeting Point for Silfra tours - Upon arrival 15 minutes before the start time, you will check in with the guides at the meeting point at Silfra. Once your group of max 6 people has been formed, your guide will give you your drysuit, warm undersuit and snorkeling equipment. Your guide will explain how to use this equipment and how to ensure that you will be warm and comfortable during your tour. You can change in our heated Changing Van and the guide will help you with putting all the gear on. We recommend wearing long underwear and thick socks.
Your guide will brief you on Silfra and safety as well as information about Thingvellir national park, the tectonic plates and the continents. The briefing and gearing up takes approx 1 hour.
You will walk 5 minutes to Silfra and start your 30 - 45 minute snorkeling tour of Silfra Hall, Silfra Cathedral, and Silfra Lagoon.
After snorkeling in the cold water, we warm you up with hot cocoa and cookies. This is your chance to chat with your guide, ask any questions you might have and take a look at the pics taken during the tour.

You don’t have to be a licensed diver to witness such clarity! Snorkeling at Silfra caters to all who have a comfort level with water and can swim. This activity is family-friendly and recommended for individuals aged 12 and above.
The snorkeling tour at Silfra is conducted in a dry suit that keeps you warm and dry while you swim in the icy, transparent waters.
Silfra lies within Thingvellir National Park, recognized by Unesco as a heritage site. This exquisite park ranks amongst the marvels on the well-known Golden circle route.
- IMPORTANT - Participants who are 60 years of age and older must have their doctor sign the approval form in order to participate
- All participant’s height, weight and age information must be provided to local operator to ensure they bring the best fitting drysuit. The tour operator will contact you after booking to ask for this information.
- All participants will need to fill out a medical form before participating in the tour. The form can be filled out online
- Drysuits are worn over your own clothing. We recommend wearing long thermal underwear and thick wool socks as a base layer under the dry suit
- Minimum height is 4ft 11in (150cm). Minimum weight is 100lbs (45kg).
- Maximum height and weight is 6ft7in (200cm) and 264lbs (120kg).
- Participants must be comfortable in water and able to swim, physically fit and healthy
- Please note that that dry suits can sometimes feel quite tight and constricting
- All participants must be able to communicate in English
- Not suitable for pregnant women
- All participants must be at least 12 years old

DIVE.IS Meeting Point for Silfra tours
After you have entered Thingvellir National Park, turn onto road #361. Stay on this road for a few minutes and take the 3rd right where you will see the Silfra car park with our company vans. Drive a little further to parking lot P5 to park and walk back to meet our guides.

Silfra+ Diogo= Perfection - Once in a lifetime experience! Beautiful, enthralling and exciting. If you are lucky, Diogo will be your guide! LINN IS THE BEST GUIDE, HANDS DOWN!!! - Linn was so incredibly sweet and funny, she made everything comfortable and exciting! Wouldn’t have wanted to be with anyone but her. Water was so incredibly clear and beautiful, it was an amazing experience!

Incredible - Snorkeling between tectonic plates was already a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but our guide Linn made it unforgettable. From the very beginning, she set the perfect tone—informal, friendly, and full of positive energy. She clearly loves what she does, and that passion shines through in every moment.
Linn is not only extremely knowledgeable and talented, but she also knows how to make everyone feel comfortable and at ease, no matter their experience level. She balanced professionalism with genuine warmth, and it felt like we were exploring with a close friend who just happened to be an expert in this incredible environment.
Her enthusiasm is infectious, her explanations are clear, and her care for both the group and the environment is inspiring. By the end, we weren’t just grateful for the experience, we were grateful for her.
If you’re lucky enough to have Linn as your guide, you’ll understand right away why she’s truly outstanding.

Lives up to the hype - Had an incredible experience with Dive.is! Their entire staff was very knowledgeable and explained everything well to this first-time snorkeler. They had a very well-orchestrated tour and system for getting people from check-in to suited up and into the water and back. My tour guide, Anna, was fantastic; she made me feel safe trying this new experience and took wonderful photos of my group. The views were spectacular! I'd love to do it again!

Must do! - really fun adventure with crisp, cold water and sci-fi like views. It’s mind over matter, you will be fine. The guides are super, friendly, reassuring and informative. It restores my faith in humanity to see how they all work together and help one another. Linn is the best!!

Thrilling - The staff is terrific! They are very knowledgeable and professional. They take their time explaining everything and help both in land out of the water. You are in the water about 40 minutes. A thrilling experience for me!

Incredible views brutal prep - I really wish I could give this 5 stars. Especially since Shenae was awesome and super knowledgeable. She took phenomenal photos and they were worth every penny.
However the bugs that ate my face at the getting ready site left welts. This happened for over an hour with no warning from Viator or the tour.
On top of that, they need to choke your neck and wrist for the dry suit... fine but my hand was turning numb and I chose to lose the collar and get a little of my chest wet in order to breathe. I was however VERY glad i chose Snorkeling over scuba.. your face thanks you for the brewk of the cold water. This is definitely a once in a life time experience. Amazing to do, but never again.

Our only negative experience was with Dive.IS - Iceland is a great country and we did many great activities and met many great people. Dive. Is was the only negative experience. With all the choices to make in your activities , choose somewhere else to spend your time and money .
