DIVE.IS Meeting Point for Silfra tours - Upon arrival 15 minutes before the start time, you will check in with the guides at the meeting point at Silfra. Once your group of max 6 people has been formed, your guide will give you your drysuit, warm undersuit and snorkeling equipment. Your guide will explain how to use this equipment and how to ensure that you will be warm and comfortable during your tour. You can change in our heated Changing Van and the guide will help you with putting all the gear on. We recommend wearing long underwear and thick socks.
Your guide will brief you on Silfra and safety as well as information about Thingvellir national park, the tectonic plates and the continents. The briefing and gearing up takes approx 1 hour.
You will walk 5 minutes to Silfra and start your 30 - 45 minute snorkeling tour of Silfra Hall, Silfra Cathedral, and Silfra Lagoon.
After snorkeling in the cold water, we warm you up with hot cocoa and cookies. This is your chance to chat with your guide, ask any questions you might have and take a look at the pics taken during the tour.

Embark on a snorkeling adventure of a lifetime at the Silfra fissure!
Drift between the continents inside two tectonic plates, witnessing the world’s clearest water (with a visibility exceeding 100m), and the enchanting hues of the submerged universe.
You don’t have to be a licensed diver to witness such clarity! Snorkeling at Silfra caters to all who have a comfort level with water and can swim. This activity is family-friendly and recommended for individuals aged 12 and above.
The snorkeling tour at Silfra is conducted in a dry suit that keeps you warm and dry while you swim in the icy, transparent waters.
Silfra lies within Thingvellir National Park, recognized by Unesco as a heritage site. This exquisite park ranks amongst the marvels on the well-known Golden circle route.
- All participants will need to fill out a medical form before participating in the tour. The form can be filled out online
- All participant’s height, weight and age information must be provided to local operator to ensure they bring the best fitting drysuit. The tour operator will contact you after booking to ask for this information.
- IMPORTANT - Participants over 60 years of age must have their doctor sign the approval form in order to participate
- Drysuits are worn over your own clothing. We recommend wearing long thermal underwear and thick wool socks as a base layer under the dry suit
- Minimum height is 4ft 11in (150cm). Minimum weight is 100lbs (45kg).
- Maximum height and weight is 6ft7in (200cm) and 264lbs (120kg).
- Participants must be comfortable in water and able to swim, physically fit and healthy
- Please note that that dry suits can sometimes feel quite tight and constricting
- All participants must be able to communicate in English
- Not suitable for pregnant women
- All participants must be at least 12 years old

DIVE.IS Meeting Point for Silfra tours
After you have entered Thingvellir National Park, turn onto road #361. Stay on this road for a few minutes and take the 3rd right where you will see the Silfra car park with our company vans. Drive a little further to parking lot P5 to park and walk back to meet our guides.

Amazing Techtonic Snorkeling Experience - We truly enjoyed our tour with Asier. His professional and caring nature made us feel very comfortable and confident prior to getting in the water. No apprehensions as he was very clear with what to expect. He was personable and made the experience fun. They provided a full body thermal under garment and getting into the dry suit was interesting and fun. We squeezed into the dry suits with assistance. Lol There is a method so be sure to listen to the guides instructions. They are very tight around the wrist and neck (the choker collar is an added treat). It takes a few minutes to get used to but don't be afraid to speak up if something is too loose or too tight. You don’t want to leak but you want to breathe. Dive.IS and Asier were fantastic!! Definitely recommend.

Great view above and below the water. - Very competent english speaking guide. You put on a dry suite with shoes, gloves and hood. The only part that gets really cold are the lips. You get an amazing view underwater and above the water. Our tour guide Asier helped us with everything and was really competent and joyfull. Thank you for the great experience.

Great experience, wonderful guidance from James ensured it went without a hitch. - A once in a lifetime experience. Nowhere else can you snorkel between tectonic plates in crystal clear waters. I’d never snorkelled before so the excellent guidance from James helped make this into an experience with no negatives.
