Highlights
  • Silfra Fissure Arctic Adventures - Meet us at Thingvellir National Park, about 50 km from Reykjavik. Once you have met your PADI divemaster certified guide, he or she will be going through the procedure and safety measures of your tour. After, you will put on your gear and head to an exotic underwater canyon/fissure, Silfra, created as the continental plates drift apart at a rate of about 2 cm per year. Silfra is a freshwater fissure where you can see at least 100 meters ahead of you. The water here is so clear and pristine it feels like flying. The approximate time in the water is around 40 minutes. Before leaving you’ll have a delicious hot chocolate prepared by your guide for the day.

We do have the option to pre-book a wetsuit on another listing. Booking a wetsuit is recommended for people who want to have the chance to dive down or who are scuba divers without the required certifications for the scuba dive. For the wetsuit it is recommended that you are a confident swimmer, if you are not then the drysuit is best for you. To cater to everyone’s desires we are the only company that has wetsuits and drysuits allowing them to be in the same group.

Additional Information

Take an unforgettable snorkeling adventure within two tectonic plates at Silfra, one of the world’s greatest diving locales! Nestled in Iceland’s Thingvellir National Park, Silfra is a crevice carved by the shifting of the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates.

What sets Silfra apart is not merely its geological peculiarity, but it is also globally recognized for its pristine and pure glacial water. Continuously replenished with 100m+ visibility potable water, this supports the distinct biodiversity in the crevice.

We have the exclusive offer at Silfra to provide both drysuit and wetsuit options, accommodating individual preferences within your group.

Most colorful snorkeling tour - Our guide Luis was ingenious: helpful and with humor. The equipment proved to be perfect, not a single moment where I felt cold. And the snorkeling trip was one of the most colorful water events, an amazing landscape in blue and orange. I'd recommend booking an early trip at 9am, to have the Silfra split all for yourself!

wonderful! - what an amazing adventure and for anyone worried about the cold, don't be as it's absolutely fine (this coming from someone that suffers with cold hands!). Had the pleasure of being escorted by Kevin who tool plenty of time to make sure everyone was fitted out correctly and took plenty of time during the excursion for photos and to give any information. well worth the money and the team were highly professional throughout.

Very interesting - It was a really amazing experience. The water was really clear so you can see a lot in the water. Thought the water would be too cold, but with the dry suit you felt not cold at all. Our guide Kevin told us more about the area and was a helpful, funny and careing guide.

Bucket list item checked off - This was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. Definitely worth the price. I recommend booking for a day that isn’t forecasted for wind as the water is more clear and calm for seeing right through to the bottom. Our tour guide, Anil, was very knowledgeable, kind, and patient. The water was gorgeous just like in the pictures. The dry suits kept everything but your face and hands warm. If you follow instructions, you’ll be comfortable the entire time. The photos came out great and the hot chocolate was delicious! Thank you, Anil!
