Highlights
  • DIVE.IS Meeting Point for Silfra tours - Upon arrival 15 minutes before the start time, you will check in with the guides at the meeting point at Silfra. Once your group of max 3 divers has been formed, your guide will give you your drysuit, warm undersuit and diving equipment. Your guide will explain how to use this equipment and how to ensure that you will be warm and comfortable during your tour. You can change in our heated Changing Van and the guide will help you with putting all the gear on. We recommend wearing long underwear and thick socks.

Additional Information

Delve into the immaculate, transparent waters of Silfra, submerging between two continental plates.

Silfra, a geologic fault, was formed by the shifting of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.

The glacial water that fills the Silfra fissure has undergone decades of purification by passing through subterranean lava rock, providing visibility for over 100 meters underwater. The aquatic panorama that you witness in Silfra is a unique world sight, an absolute must for any diving bucket list.

The Silfra diving journey is taken in a dry suit, thus ensuring your internal warmth and dryness during the dive.

Your exploration will cover the four primary sections of Silfra - the large crack, Silfra hall, Silfra Cathedral, and the Silfra Lagoon. There will be an opportunity to touch both continents at one point – make sure to capture that moment!

Silfra is nestled in the Thingvellir National Park, a proud member of the Unesco heritage sites. The outstanding park is a part of the globally renowned Golden Circle route.

Best experience and the clearest dive ever! - AMAZING! Thank you so much to my guide David who was very friendly, helpful and even though I have lots of dives in wetsuit made me feel very at ease and comfortable about diving in a dry suit in 2C water! He gave a thorough briefing and took great photos of me, I liked how he asked the other 2 people in the group to all switch around formation during the dive as otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get many photos, that was very considerate of him and I appreciate that. Thank you so much, I'd definitely recommend doing the dive and get there early it's far less busy. Thank you David!

Incredible experience with guide Anna! - We went on the 8 am tour with Anna. Such an incredible experience! Anna was such a helpful guide, and she did a wonderful job of making sure everyone in the group was having a great time. We were able to get ahead of the crowds, and the scenery was absolutely incredible. Would love to do it again!

June snorkel - After landing in Iceland, we drove to Pingvallavattan and the snorkeling tour was our first activity. The drive was lovely, and we enjoyed visiting the park. Parking was easy, and we had a beautiful, sunny day to explore Sillfra. Our guide Janna kept us safe, well educated, and in Good spirits as we completed the snorkel tour. Her humor and kindness made the trip so enjoyable, and I would highly recommend the tour. This is a moderately strenuous activity, and a reasonable level of fitness is beneficial to complete.

One of a kind tour - One of the best tours I’ve ever done, anywhere. There was a mix up with my booking, but Nico handled it quickly and professionally, and had me in the water on schedule. This was a truely unique experience. Lots of details on the actual experience in other reviews, but i find thr quality of a tour is almost always a combination of the uniqueness of the experience and the friendliness of the guide. Both of these were winners here.

A must do for every diver, a great experience with Dive.is - This dive was one of my 2024 resolutions and I am so glad it was. This is a wonderful dive, although also a difficult one (you need to have a drysuit certification and there is also a lot of multilevel diving). Hugo was an amazing guide and together with other guides they give you a great experience, helping with the gear, immediately aware if you need help with something underwater, it’s a really great experience diving with Hugo and the rest of the dive.is team!

Silfra is a bucket list dive! - What an experience! Briosh was my guide, and did a fantastic job of briefing and taking care of me so I could just focus on the dive. The colors and clarity at Silfra are wild, and Dive.is and Briosh made it an unforgettable time.
