Beartree Park uniquely combines a zoo with an arboretum in Korea, boasting over 100 moon bears, brown bears, peacocks, and deer, roaming freely across 100,000 pyeong of terrain. It also houses over 1,000 plant varieties and 400,000 floral specimens and trees.
Since its establishment on May 11, 2009, the arboretum has been a personal haven created with the youthful spirit and personal touch of its founder. It stands as the foundational feature of Beartree Park.
Across more than fifty years, juniper trees that once lined the boundaries of a country hamlet have matured into splendor, and what began as several pairs of moon bears has expanded through natural reproduction into a thriving community spanning several generations. As a result, Beartree Park has transformed into a magnificent arboretum, courtesy of the formidable strength of the natural world.
