This battle is one of the notable engagements fought by UN forces during the Korean War and holds significant importance as a key example of isolated defense. During the battle, approximately 650 British troops heroically held off 25,000 Chinese troops for three days, allowing UN forces to redeploy and halt the Chinese advance on Seoul.
