Highlights

Capitol Hill - Center of Seattle’s LGBTQ community for years, this neighborhood is packed with little independent shops, bars and attitude.

We will learn about the history of ‘the hill’, and visit one of Seattle’s oldest parks with great views of the Space Needle. Along the way, we will check out a few of Seattle’s best book stores, some great record shops, sample locally made ice cream and confections, enjoy the best espresso in the city (in my opinion!) and see some of the most famous bars and live music venues in the city. This is a great way to plan your weekend agenda while in town if nightlife is your thing!

Known for years as the heart of Seattle’s LGBTQ community, ‘the hill’ is a lively, all-embracing area teeming with unique standalone stores, a thriving nightlife scene, and a vibrant personality. Our journey will include an exploration of its rich history and a stroll through one of Seattle’s most time-honored parks, boasting breathtaking views of the iconic Space Needle. Our itinerary includes a visit to some of Seattle’s top bookstores and record shops, tasting local artisanal ice cream and sweets, savoring the city’s finest espresso (according to me!), and experiencing some of the city’s most renowned bars and concert venues. This tour offers an excellent way to draft your weekend plans in the city if you’re a fan of the nightlife. These are spots I show off to visiting friends and relatives, and I look forward to showcasing them to you.

The tour is designed to be an intimate ‘pick of the city’ jaunt limited to just 3 people, making it a personal gateway into undiscovered Seattle. Join me, a 30-year-long resident of the city, on this exploratory journey! For a personalized version of this tour catering to 1 to 4 attendees, feel free to call/text.

Look for me inside with a Seattle Under the Radar Tours sign. Street parking near Vivace is limited to 2 hrs (the tour is 3 hrs) but there are garages nearby. Consider taking a Lyft/Uber or public transit if possible. The Capitol Hill Light Rail station is 4 blocks from Vivace Brix.

had a excellent Capitol hill tour with Lynn - excellent excellent tour! Lynn is fantastic guide and this tour was amazing. Thank God I happened to find this tour. Lynn is history major and knows a lot about the history of Capitol Hill and all the stories about the buildings, stores, pretty houses and all other events in this area. I learned a lot about the real culture of people in Capitol Hills~! I just made reservation for Lynn's another tour in Georgetown and Alki beach. I am excited to have another great tour tomorrow. I wish more people (including many Koreans) also come and join this tour to know better about the towns.

Talented tour guide with lots of fun stories and information! - Lynn was a fantastic guide! A true people person, she was easy to talk to, and she has a natural curiosity and an amazing ability to retain information. This means she has her practiced information to share on the tour, but she can also pivot and respond to questions and anecdotes with bonus stories, details, and recommendations that really enrich the experience. She is a great listener and allowed me to banter a bit and share some of my stories, too! We had an amazing time and learned a lot about Capitol Hill. I particularly enjoyed the espresso at the beginning, trying to dance, discovering secret hidden places, and truly appreciating the differences between thoughtless and thoughtful renovation. Thank you for a wonderful time, Lynn!

A big win with Lynn! - The tour and Lynn (the owner) were great! It was like visiting an old friend who knew a lot about the city. We saw a lot of things we would have never found on our own. She knew a lot of history about the Capitol Hill neighborhood and experienced its many changes. Very down to earth. Coffee and water were a nice touch as well as the narwhal balls at The Unicorn. Would definitely book a tour with her again! Fun and relaxing experience.

Lynn is awesome! - Layne was a fabulous tour guide and we had such a fun time with her. She loves the city and helps you fall in love with it too by showing you all the funky, fun, and beautiful sites in Seattle.

Oh the places we saw, the people we met! - Lynn is a super guide to all things Seattle not covered in the ‘Highlights’ kind of tour. If you’re interested in the heart and soul of this city, book this tour. As we were a small group, we shared our interests and she led us to the best live music venues and bookstores. Great details about the history of these places added even more depth. The 3 hours flew by with all this to see! We will repeat this tour each time we are in Seattle to stay current.

Such an amazing time!!! - I went on the Capitol Hill tour with Lynn and I have to say Wowza this girl knows what's up! I picked that tour because I used to live on Capitol Hill, but my boyfriend had never experienced it. Well I soon realized on the tour that neither had I! She immediately brought us to Vivace, which I was very familiar with, but she recommended a drink that I have never heard of, which is now a drink that makes me want to go back to Capitol Hill! Then she brought us all over different areas that I never thought to go and showed me an amazing history that I never knew. Then we went to some of the local bars, but still she schooled me with really cool facts that I never would have known! Seriously the most amazing tour, that I thought was just going to be for my boyfriend. I highly recommend!!!

Wonderful Tour - Capitol Hill tour was great! Lynn knows so much about this I learned about awesome (diamond in the rough) places there that I had not visited before even though I had lived on the Hill for for 13 years. Even the places I had been before I got to see through new eyes due to the inclusion of history about the places we visited. The whole tour was relaxed but not too slow, and I loved that we got to ask so many questions due to the small tour size. An excellent experience and I can't wait to go on other tours to learn more about the city I already love!
