The instructor was very patient and thorough, making sure we understood how and WHY to do things. The boats were sounds and comfortable. I always felt like safety was a priority with this class. I had zero knowledge of sailing and now feel very comfortable participating in this sport. I’m ready to start gaining experience.

I felt that instructors were very knowledgeable and having two different instructors added to the training, getting two different perspectives on the material taught, was beneficial. Both Skippers were very helpful and engaging. The balance between classroom and actual sailing time was good. The ASA Course Book was very helpful and covered everything you needed to read up on before the class. The boat we used was good for the training and even though we did have some fairly light winds, you still got to enjoy the wind in your hair and the enjoyment of sailing at speed. The SCS school was very quaint and added to the experience and the staff were friendly. My only negative was on the number of times the class was rescheduled, for me personally planning to be at training for a full weekend means a lot of juggling around and getting notification on a Friday that the class was cancelled was not very helpful, I appreciate that this is down to other students cancelling at the last moment. But I think that this process could be improved. Overall, a great experience and I would recommend if you do have an interest in sailing it is well worth the time and effort.
