Our stringent Jeep Tour of the Sonoran Desert offers a slow-paced, jolting excursion through the stunning Sonoran desert landscape, traversing the Tonto National Forest. The only driver on your Jeep tour is your professional guide who is a certified off-road driver, and he will educate you about the unique wildlife and plants of the Sonoran desert on some of the most picturesque trails around Scottsdale.

Jeeps deployed: Jeep YJ (7 seats).

Scottsdale Adventure Tours holds special recreational permits from the U.S. Department of Agriculture: Cave Creek Ranger District and the U.S. Department of the Interior: Bureau of Land Management.

Please note, there’s a weight restriction of 275 lbs per individual on the tour.

  • Closed-toed shoes are mandatory.
  • This is a guide-led tour; guests will NOT be driving the Jeeps.
  • From November to February, we strongly recommend warm clothing.
  • Our bumpy off-road Jeep tours are low-speed, jarring rides through rough terrain. Please ensure that every guest in your party understands that this off-road tour is a low-speed, bumpy ride through rough terrain.
  • Please carefully review our list of health restrictions and requirements. Due to safety concerns, we are unable to accommodate guests who do not meet the tour requirements. Ensure each guest in your party reads and understands the tour requirements. There will be no refunds issued to guests who fail to read and understand the health restrictions and requirements of this tour.
  • No Neck Problems.
  • Not recommended for guests who easily get motion sickness.
  • Weight limit per seat: 275 pounds. Please contact our office to make special arrangements.
  • Must be physically able to climb a step ladder to enter the lifted Jeeps.
  • Not recommended for passengers with any condition that can be aggravated by a bumpy off-road ride through rough terrain.
  • Pregnant individuals are prohibited from participating in this high risk activity.

Best Sonoran Desert Tour - Best way to experience the Sonoran Desert and learn about all the different plants and wildlife. Our guide, Grace was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and took us to the best areas.

Fun tour - Cam was great. We learned a lot about the cactus and desert and we’ve lived here 14 yrs! She made it fun also. I may have to go for another tour in a few wks when all the flowers are blooming.

Go, have fun and learn something! - Whitney was an awesome tour guide! We had fun from the moment we hopped into the jeep. I’ve been coming out to the Sonoran desert for 20+ years and learned new things on the tour. The lady knew her desert. Will take guests on this tour again.
