Best Tour on the Island - We went to Tobago during a cruise in February and used Island Girl Tours for our visit, and it was easily the best day of the vacation. The glass bottom boat over the Buccoo reef was amazing, as was the snorkeling. The Nylon Pool and no man’s land were great experiences. But the best part was the tour guides, Anna and Kristen, who went out of their way to give us an outstanding day. I would recommend them to anyone visiting the island. They were gracious and accommodating, as well as knowledgeable and entertaining, they put together a great tour, and were AMAZING with the kids.

I will wholeheartedly book more tours with Island girl.

Perfection Personified by a man called David. - Wow! Wow! & OMG! These are just a few analogies I can use for this tour, but surfice to say if your planning a trip to Tobago speak to Anna or David and arrange this tour prior to your arrival as they are very busy, but if they can, and exactly what they did for us they will fit you in. I'm writing this review sat at the end of the jetty at Blue Waters Inn hotel in Speyside on the North East Atlantic side of the island. This is where our tour started from on Wednesday 08th May 2024. This was the day after we had arrived on the island, and some of our travelling colleagues called us crazy for doing this as everyone was already tired and worn out from the journey to Tobago. This did not deter us and as we are both ex military we were used to early mornings. So on the morning of the tour David after travelling the length of the island and leaving Scarborough at 0430hrs in the South arrived at Blue Waters Inn just before 0600hrs. We walked from our room to reception a bit bleary-eyed Wendy more than me, and we were met by this lovely, charming man called David. I'm not going to explain every aspect or the tour on this review as this is for you to find out when you do yours, but I can categorically say in the 12 or so hours we spent with David there were no negatives at all, and the whole experience was magical. So we walked to David's car a spacious 4×4 with our kit and equipment for the day. He explained to me and Wendy that there were coolers in the back full of an array of drinks including water, soft drinks coke, angostura lemon and lime chill which was Wendy's favourite and of course beer and rum for me which was my favourite of course. After a short drive we were at Flagstaff Hill for breakfast David unpacked the car while myself and Wendy walked around a beautiful manicured picknick area and viewed the amazing sight we could see from this vantage point. David then arrived with Tea & Coffee (far to early for a beer!) and gave us a history talk about the island which was very well received by us as we wanted to emerse ourselves in the whole experience and at 0620hrs in the morning that was some going. It was now time to eat so we moved to one of the benches and had breakfast, bake and buljol which is a baked or fried triangular flat bread you tear apart and fill with the buljol which is shredded saltfish in olive oil with onion, sweet pepper and tomato. This was absolutely gorgeous to taste and very filling, a great start. After breakfast we moved down to Charlotteville parked right next to the sea front and David asked us weather we wanted to do some snorkeling, and as we were semi awake by this stage this was the ideal time for that morning wake up call. So we gathered our masks David called one of the fishing boat operators over a young boy ( who's name I've already forgotten) sorry! First he took us to Lovers Bay, then after about 40 mins we then moved over to Pirates Bay and spent about another 30 minutes there. Both bays were fantastic and the plethora of fish that we saw was amazing and that included a shoal of over 100 bright blue Parrot Fish, a sight to behold. We then moved off from Charlotteville after a beer of course! not bad two snorkeling trips and a beer before 8 in the morning. So we made our way back down the Atlantic side or the island through Speyside and down to Roxborough. We were now making our way up into the rainforest mountain reserve to Argyle Falls. We parked in the car park and David explained that it would take us a 15 minute walk to get to the falls which was a lovely track to walk on and the wildlife wow! from ghecos on the floor to Mot Mots, Chakalata and Red Woodpeckers in the trees, we were truly in emersed in the rainforest. Once we arrived at the falls all you could hear was the crash of the water into the lagoon below and the sound of birdsong. Myself and Wendy took no time to walk straight into the lagoon and emerse ourselves in the crisp cool fresh water. Firstly to wash off the salt water from earlier and secondly to wonder where we were on god's lovely planet. After a great swim and photo opportunities it was back down the track fully refreshed and both awake now at this point, to a nice cool beer for me and a Angostura Chill for Wendy, I really don't want this day to end! Back in the car and we ventured further into the rainforest with our most knowledgeable guide and a true friend now made David! The knowledge this charming man has is second to none. After a short while we stopped at the side of the road at a place called Shurl's. David explained to us all about the bird species here in the rainforest then proceeded to give us both a small pot of sugared water, and told us to hold them out infront of us. Within seconds we both had an array of wonderfully coloured hummingbirds drinking our lovely nectar from our pots, it wasn't till one actually rested stood on my hand that it brought both me and Wendy to tears. You always come on a holiday to make memories and boy on this trip we've got a shed load already and it's not even lunchtime yet! We moved back to the car for a nice cool beer and soda to calm down those raw emotions. Driving back through the rainforest and joining the Atlantic highway we drove through Pembroke, Goodwood and Mount St George before stopping for lunch at Scarborough. David took us into what I call a delicatessen a Rhoti shop were we had a fantastic choice of food to choose from. I chose goat curry with roast potatoes and onion, with spinach and green beans and if course Rhoti. Wendy had the goat curry and a bit of chicken curry with chickpeas and roast potatoes and onion. Both meals were really tasty and flavoursome and very substantial all washed down with (yes you've guessed it an ice cold beer and a shot of rum), fantastic! As I don't want to make this review into a novel so I will from now try and make it brief. From Scarborough we made our way through the lowlands to the plantations golf club which was our next stop. No not to play golf lol, but to witness the devastation caused by a recent oil spill. We stopped at this unassuming spot where there was a boardwalk meandering it's way through the mangrove swamp area. David led the way down the boardwalk and only after a couple of steps there were bats and birds flying around from under the boardwalk into the mangrove trees all around us, again what a memory! Then the reality check, what devastation us humans can cause! As we were coming to the end of the boardwalk it was plain to see and smell the damage the oil had done to the mangrove trees and the surrounding wildlife, with soddened oil booms still in the water. Again another moving experience! From here we move down to Crown Point, Store Bay, Pigeon Point & Bucco Bay, the Southern end of the island where most people stay in Tobago for it's pristine beaches. As we're now on the Carribbean side of the island there are many more beaches to visit including many hidden gems. David the Tobagan Wikipedia knew all of them starting in Plymouth we moved to Arnos Vale bay with black sand an isolated little gem, an old hotel right on its shores, derelict for over 20 years was so sad to see but nature was definitely in the process of taking it back, stunning bay! After another quencher we moved further up the coast road visiting King Peters Bay, Castara Bay, Englishman's Bay, Parlatuvier Bay & Bloody Bay. As we visited all these bays and more David was always there instilling all of his knowledge into our now shrinking heads due to the fact we hadn't had much sleep for the last 48hrs and the non stop refreshments might have had a part to play. Like I said before, no negatives in this review. Not a chance! From Bloody Bay we turned right and headed back through the rainforest towards Roxborough then left onto the Windward Road, through Delaford and up to Speyside back to where our hotel The Blue Waters Inn is situated. What a trip! We pulled into the car park and we got all of our stuff together and eventually said goodbye to David. He presented me with a bottle of Tabagan Rum and I gave him a few presents for himself and Anna. A most wonderful, charming, kind and understanding man you'll ever want to meet. Full of knowledge of this beautiful island of Tobago and like I said before his hosting skills are second to none. We felt safe, we felt special and boy did he look after us. A friend for life I feel, a brother from another mother as they say in some parts. What a guy, what a trip! Anyone who reads this review, you'll be a fool not to book a trip with David & Anna and their Island Girl Tour Company. So what are you waiting for, get it booked! NOW! All our love to David & Anna from Windy & Wendy 🔵🔴🔵💂⚓xxx.

Pure Joy - We fell in love with Tobago because of Island Girl, David, Alan, and the whole team. We were already in Trinidad with family and booked with Island Girl, last minute, and they helped us immediately. The whole process was very professional. From the minute we met, they were prepared, gracious, and kind. They provided everything we needed. They were knowledgable and proud of their roots. The whole tour was party filled and documented via picture/video for us to keep. I had the best time ever and can’t wait for another excursion.

Best day in Tobago!! - Our trip was amazing. It was by far the highlight of our trip to Tobago. Booking the trip was very easy and the communication was excellent. Anna reached out to us to find out exactly what we wanted to see and do. It was just my wife and myself and we had two tour guides. Kristen and Jason were awesome. They were both very friendly and patient with us, we never felt rushed to go to the next sight. We got to eat doubles at the street side stand, saw a lot of amazing waterfalls, and played on some amazing crystal clear water beaches. The provided lunch was delicious and got to feed hummingbirds from our hands. I feel like we made new friends today in Tobago! Thank you for everything!!!!

Worth every penny. - I booked Island Girls to do an extensive tour of Tobago, and it was the best decision I could have made. David took me all the way up to Charlotteville and back, and on the way we stopped for some incredible doubles and had a lovely plated lunch not too long after. This tour truly felt like a fun excursion with a long time friend. I can’t wait to visit again with friends and family so that they too can experience the beauty of Tobago

Most Amazing Experience! - My husband and I booked Island Girls to do an 8.5 hour tour around the island, and it was the most unforgettable experience ever. David was so patient with us as we had our 7 month old baby with us for the tour. He made sure that all the places we went to were baby friendly, and offered to make several stops along the way to keep us and baby comfortable. David was extremely knowledgeable about all the historic places that we visited and knew how to properly guide us through the hidden falls and trails that we encountered on our journey. David also made sure to take pictures of our family so that we would have amazing keepsakes for life. Thank you David for making this the highlight of our trip, and we can’t wait to come back again next year 🙏🏾 Mel, Prince & Baby Jojo

An unforgettable experience - We had the most amazing time on this tour with David. Having our own personal tour guide meant that we were able to completely customise our time in Tobago, and it certainly didn't disappoint! After an initial planning session over the phone, we set off on our 12 hour tour, starting with an amazing, homemade breakfast of saltfish and bake whilst watching the sun rise. During the tour, David took us to so many beautiful areas, including waterfalls, historical sites, and countless beaches. He provided us with snorkelling equipment so we didn't miss out on seeing the stunning fish and coral in the sea, and even took us on a boat ride to get to the hard-to-reach places. Most of the locations that we went were off the beaten track, meaning that we were often the only people there, leaving us to have the whole beach/waterfall to ourselves, which was absolutely incredible! David was so fun and kind, and we got on with him really well, so we were so glad to have him take us on the tour. We did stop off to see Anna briefly as she had made us a beautiful stone artwork as a souvenir of our Honeymoon in Tobago. We stopped off at Shurland's Nature Reserve for lunch where we had yet another home cooked meal that was delicious. Despite seeing so many beautiful scenes and wildlife, this was the highlight of our tour as the hummingbirds sat on our fingers to drink the nectar! The whole tour wouldn't have been the same if we hadn't had Anna's rum punch along the way, which was the best on the Island! We were also given the opportunity to taste some local beers and rums. Overall, we had an absolutely unforgettable experience, with David going above and beyond to make our trip special. We would recommend them to anybody visiting Tobago, and will book them again on our next visit!
