Hiking Monkey Mountain is 1 hour up to the top and 1 hour down to the base of the mountain.
80% shade this hike is one of our favorites in the area.
We start 5 kms from Punta de Mita Village, By Higuera Blanca little village on our way to Sayulita
The hike starts on a river bed 2 block from main Plaza, Jeep road to begin and then single track to the top/

This activity is great for families and also can be as workout ,Monkey Montain is not an easy hike..! it is demanding but always put you a smile on your face at the end,, not a the beginning Lol.
Summer time is a little harder because humidity , that is the reason we need to start the earliest possible or at sunset.
We have to options to climb this mountain,, by Higuera Blanca(Punta de Mita) or by Patzcuaro.(Sayulita) this second option is the hard option. 1 st option :Higuera Blanca side is much easier.
We can do it in the morning or at sunset
if weather is good,, we do it.
