Great lesson. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Excellent communication - I just returned from a trip to Dominical with my 18yo daughter and we had a blast! Not the least of which was the surfing experience we had with Dominical Surf School on Playa Dominicalito. I wasn't sure where in CR I was going and I had never been to Dominical. I emailed the company a few months before my trip. Debbie, the owner, emailed me back immediately with helpful info and also offered to talk on the phone if I had any questions. I had a few. We talked and she was super helpful and clinched my decision to come to Dominical. I wasn't looking for a surf camp. Just a lesson to knock off the rust and maybe catch a ride to other beaches nearby. Dominical has great surfing, but a little above my begintermediate level at times. Playa Dominicalito is just a few minute drive away and a great place for beginner-intermediate surfers . And Debbie was able to put together an experience that worked great for us. My daughter, who is very much a beginner, and I had a fantastic lesson from José Miguel. He was able to work with us so I could practice in the whitewater and then move outside to catch some green waves, while working with my daughter in the whitewater until she was gaining some confidence. I'm an expert at a few other things I do in the outdoors, but surfing is definitely not one of them. This lesson and this beach allowed me to go to the next level in my surfing. My daughter and I wanted to surf a few more days but agreed we didn't need another lesson, just boards, a ride to the beach (I didn't have a car) and time to surf. They allowed us to do a ride-along the next day for a very reasonable price, space available mind you. It was just what we needed. Communication from Debbie's staff, their friendliness and their willingness to help us surf was all top level. They were very accommodating. I'm sure a surf camp is a fantastic experience, but that's not what we were looking for. Debbie and her staff were able to make lessons work for us. I will very likely come back to Dominical in the future, and when I do I will utilize the services of Dominical Surf School. I recommend you do too.

Learn how to turn 🤙 - Today 18/4-24 I had really good surf lesson with Dominical surf school. We practiced on turning’s and little board control, so it’s easier to go back out again. It was a good experience, learning a lot today. So thank you so much. // Denise from Sweden

Lovely friendly instructors! - I took a lesson with Dominical Surf School this March and it was lovely. The team was friendly and welcoming. We met at the office and drove together to Dominicalito where the waves were more friendly to us beginners. Everyone just had really good vibes, and were very supportive and positive about learning which was really nice. I like that it felt like a small local business and not a surf factory or anything like that. Shoutout to Mario who also happened to get a couple photos of me getting a wave and sent them to me!

Can't recommend enough - What an awesome experience, the instructor (Gonzales) was wonderful, taking time to explain and ensure we were safe and had a great time. I have never surfed, and by the end I was confident and riding waves!!

Best Surf School / Board Rental in Dominical - Dominical Surf School is the absolute best! This was my first time to Dominical and to Costa Rica in general, and these guys took mine and my friend's experience beyond our expectations. From beginning to end they were professional, genuine, friendly, and took the time to share local knowledge and beautiful hospitality. My friend received an awesome surf lesson from Spence and the rest of the week we were there we rented boards right from the shop. Mario went above and beyond to make sure we rented the right boards, pointed us to the right spots, and made sure our experience from start to finish was fun, safe, and amazing. I'd highly recommend them whether you're an expert surfer or just a beginner wanting to get out into the waves. Muchas Gracias!

Rentals and fun lessons! - Dominical surf school is the best! I took 3 lessons with Martina after not surfing for 20+ years. She helped my confidence and skills so much. Highly recommend! We rented boards here as well. Mario and all the staff are so supportive too, even after the lessons ended I had a cheering section in the lineup. Amazing. Gracias Dominical surf school.

Great surf school in a heavenly place - We had intermediate level family surf lessons. The advice and teachers are excellent. The school is in Dominical, but the teachers know the area well and take you to the appropriate spot for your level. The ratio of 1 teacher to 2 students facilitates learning adapted to the needs of each one. They have a wide variety of boards of different sizes in soft and hard top.
