Don’t Miss It! - Kelly Tours/Gray Line contacted me the day before asking if we were staying in historical district and wanted a shuttle pick up. So that was a great start. The tour was split between riding a trolley - and walking around the area where enslaved people were brought into Savannah after being abducted from Africa and prior to being sold. Sister Pat, the tour guide - and so much more, was and is absolutely amazing. She provided much information historically as well as efforts today to get the facts straight about Savannah’s role in slavery. Her tour guide activities are a small part of her efforts to get the truth out there about the extent of the abuse even after their deaths, honor the enslaved people’s reality, and preserve their history in Savannah. Actually, she continues to be instrumental in Savannah in getting the facts straight about the uncomfortable truths. I would definitely recommend this tour. Having been on many tours in different countries, I would say this was the best one.

Tour that presents the other side of history - Amazing! Sister Pat presented an in-depth history of how the ensalved people arrived and their treatment. She showed us historical sites easily overlooked throughout Savannah.

Powerful, Educational, and Unforgettable - We took the Savannah Slavery to Freedom Guided History Tour last August with our family, and it was one of the most powerful and meaningful experiences we’ve ever had together. The tour was incredibly well done — thoughtful, educational, and deeply moving. Our guide brought the history to life in a way that was engaging and respectful, connecting the past to the present with such care and insight. We learned so much about Savannah’s role in this history, and it gave us a deeper understanding and appreciation for the people, places, and stories that are often overlooked. It sparked important conversations for our family and left a lasting impression on all of us. If you’re visiting Savannah, this tour is truly a must-do. It’s more than a tour — it’s an experience that stays with you.

Too long rambling - Sister Pat is a lovely lady with so much knowledge. But she needs to try and make a coherent story with it instead of stories not joined just rambling. She needs to talk more about the full history and less about trying to influence current city officials. At times difficult to hear. Would benefit from using the microphone on the bus.
