The Port Tour of Savannah takes place on the River Street Landing dock just in front of the restaurant Spanky's on River Street. The vessel you will be going on is called the River Explorer. Your crew will be at the top of the ramp to greet you and board approximately 30-min prior to departure.

Incredibly engaging field trip - I took 19 of my students aged 9-12 since we were studying industrialization and how important a port was to the economy here. Several parents went along too. We had the opportunity to see the tugs pull a ship off the berth and to see them turn the ship completely around to dock. This was my second field trip and it is still just as amazing. Our captain was awesome and really engaged the kids and the adults.

Savannah Port Tour was very worthwhile! - Our family really enjoyed the tour of the Savannah port. Our Captain & First Mate were very knowledgeable and humorousl. The covered, pontoon style boat traveled directly past the big vessels and cranes so we could see the action. It was interesting to see the views of Savannah from the river plus seeing dolphin. Our group had a teenager, parent and grandparents and all of us had a great experience.

Definitely Worth It! - Everything was great! Our guides were knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Only thing we would recommend is a speaker system for the guides. With the sounds of an active port all around, it was sometimes hard to hear. I would highly recommend this tour. So much to see and learn. We even got to see dolphins as we were pulling back into the River Street dock!
