Amazing journey though time on the Dordogne - This was a most amazing and fun trip. The staff and owner of Canoes Loisirs were on hand and very friendly and helpful. The trip downstream (5 castles) was effortless and beautiful. We saw lots of waterfowl including herons and white swans. Stopped at La Roque-Gageac and Beynac for wonderful sightseeing and a tasty lunch. The villages are quaint and surprising in their diversity. The flowers in May were astoundingly beautiful. We took our time and didn't finish up until nearly 17:00, so the owner himself actually picked us up to take us back to the canoe center. The service was phenomenal. His attitude was so positive. He definitely made us smile and laugh. All in all one of the best days in our one month sojourn in France.

Navigating between Castles - It is pleasant to travel by boat in these waters, visiting castles and picturesque and cozy places, everything is also very romantic and sailing is a great experience recommended for everyone.

Great way to spend a day - Floating down the Dordogne River is a wonderful way to spend a day in this area. Canoe Loisiers provided the perfect package - all the equipment we needed, plus transport to the starting point and pickup at the end. We arrived about 45 minutes early for our 11 am trip, and although we were fine with waiting until 11, they arranged to take us to the starting point early. Very well organized and nice people.

Highlight of the holiday - A not to miss experience and the best way to see the beauty and peaceful nature of the Dordogne especially when its quieter in mid Sept. It’s our 3rd time and always a highlight of the holiday - take as little or as long as you like, stopping off along the way to swim in the crystal clean waters or look out for kingfishers. We did the 5 bridge tour this time as weren’t sure if our new mischievous teen dog would be manageable for the longest trip but he enjoyed it too. It took us around 4.5 hrs with stop offs. This Co are super organised and friendly from start to finish and drop you back at your car at the finish. Highly recommend hiring from here - simply book online and turn up, they make everything clear and effortless and offer an app for guidance along the way now.

A lovely experience - Really lovely experience paddling down the Dordogne river. 16km of fascinating cliffs, castles, bridges and birds. We were given a waterproof container to store our bags etc. We took waterproof transparent phone pouches that allowed us to take photos and videos despite the inevitable splashing. You do get wet and if you stop at a river beach you will get your feet in the water on what could be slippery pebbles. We stopped at a river beach at Cenac where we were able to buy a coffee.

Amazing! - The place I’m going to be reviewing is the Dordogne. I thought it was astonishing and would definitely recommend it! Firstly, the villa in the Dordogne is a great place we’re you and your family can stay. Nearby the beach, the villa is placed with a warm exotic pool, and it even has your own woods and a park including a bright green swing, high large climbing frame, long fun seesaw and a baby blue slide connected to a large fun pirates ship. Into the woods there is a sitting area outside with fairy lights, a really comfy coach that have grey pillows and a bar all stocked up with kids drinks as well as alcohol. In the Dordogne there are a range of things to do but obviously the best thing to do is take a dip in the pool. The nearby village is only a twenty relaxing minutes of a walk with many things to do as such as get a large freshly made pizza along with a mouth watering Ice cream. By Liz, Age 10

Magical, must do experience! - This is a magical and must do experience! It inexpensive and you can take as long as you like and stop for swims, lunch, photos of the medieval villages & castles as the river is the best vantage point for photos. The flora & fauna viewed from the river is also stunning. The staff were friendly, helpful and they offer a pick-up service from Sarlat in the off season for those without a car which is really helpful. They also have an hourly shuttle that takes you back to your starting point where most people park their cars which is also helpful. This was one of my favourite experiences in the Dordogne, I would definitely do this again.

An amazing way to get great views along the Dordogne and some exercise to burn off the cheese and wine - I booked this trip via TripAdvisor, and the price was €21 per person. I booked for 3. When we arrived we were informed we had booked one canoe for 3 people, bit we in fact wanted 3 separate kayaks. Jt was an extra €10 for this (in total - not each, so €24 pp in total) but they also threw in the hire cost for the dry barrels into this. The views along the Dordogne are spectacular. We booked the 3 hour package from Sarlat to Beynac. Stopped for a quick break opposite La Roque Gaegac. It was a really great trip - you can take it slow if you wish since the river works on your favour, or you can power through and paddle quickly. All in all I would highly rate the trip. I would suggest that the option to book separate kayaks was added through TripAdvisor, since it was a surprise to us that this was a supplement, but I can't deduct a star for that because the whole trip was 5/5 and good value.

Where else can you do this. - It was a great trip. Three hours is enough for your arms and backside. You will get a bit wet but it was fine. Well worth the effort. The driver whose name Escaped me sounds like jim, turned up on time for the return and was very helpful.
