Lào Cai Train Station - Our driver will be waiting for you at the exit holding a sign with your name. You’ll be escorted to a hotel in Sapa for breakfast and a chance to freshen up before your adventure begins.
Sapa - Should you already be in Sapa, our guide will meet you at your accommodation, whether it’s a hotel, Airbnb, bungalow, or homestay, to commence the tour.
Tram Ton Pass - In the morning, a 40-minute drive will bring you to Tram Ton Pass, Vietnam’s highest at 2047 meters above sea level, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the verdant Hoang Lien National Park. A 30-minute trek through the forest follows, with opportunities to spot wildflowers. The path along the stream leads to the Love Waterfall, an idyllic spot for relaxation in Sapa, before returning to Tram Ton and heading back to Sapa for lunch at a local eatery.
Fansipan Mountain - The morning journey to Tram Ton Pass is repeated, with the same 40-minute drive, trek through the forest, and visit to the Love Waterfall, followed by a return to Sapa for lunch.
Visit Muong Hoa Valley
Muong Hoa Valley - A brief 20-minute car ride takes you to Muong Hoa Valley, renowned for its stunning beauty in northwest Vietnam. Descending on foot into the valley, you’ll witness the area’s largest terraced rice fields (with a chance to see the planting and harvesting processes between May and October). The trek from Lao Chai village of the Black H’mong to Ta Van village of the Zay minority offers insights into the distinct cultures and attire of these ethnic groups. You’ll then return to Sapa by car for lunch.
Ta Phin Village - The afternoon’s excursion leads to Ta Phin, home to the vibrant Red Dao people. Exploring the village, you’ll encounter the Black Hmong and Red Dao minorities living distinctly separate cultural lives. Visit their homes, engage with the community, and later, indulge in a herbal bath prepared by the Red Dao. They simmer a mix of fresh and dried botanicals in a large wok over a fire, then pour the infusion into a wooden tub for a rejuvenating soak. The tour concludes in Sapa if you’re staying there.
Sapa - Finally, a private van will collect you and take you to Lao Cai station, where you’ll board the overnight train to Hanoi.
