We only had one full day... - We only had one full day in town. It was a great way to see the city. Francisco was a great guide. Very knowledgeable. My advice, bring a small towel for after the caves as it’s hot and sweaty and a bottle of water. The Amber stores were typical gift shop. Had we known we were going to two we would have waited. But overall very happy.

First timers in the DR - It was a fantastic tour! Our family enjoyed all the stops and the lunch! Our guide, Daniel, was so knowledgeable and he made it extremely entertaining. He took so many photos of us and we so appreciated them all. Our driver, Willie, was also very nice! We accidentally saw our family friends and he did a brief stop for us to say hello and take a group photo. That was an unexpected treat! Overall, we highly recommend this tour!!

A really nice tour - The tour guide was very informative and the tour had many historical destinations included. Be prepared to walk quite a bit of stairs at the caves wear sensible shoes. The day we went it ended up being a private tour so there was no rush.

Great Morning in Santo Domingo - The Tres Ojos Cave is hard to beat. The staff were polite and punctual. For the half day tour, the museum portion is very rushed, and they will take you to a specific but not unique gift shop to buy souvenirs if you want. The included lunch was a delicious buffet. Overall a very good experience.

Victor was an excellent... - Victor was an excellent guide who spoke beautiful English bit also gave us an opportunity to practice our (rather poor) Spanish. Loved the walking tour of Zona Colonial.

Fun morning with lots of photos. Mixed historical accuracy. - The tour was okay... Our tour guide was bubbling with friendly excitement and was very keen to take amazing pictures of us in lots of different places. He was a fun person and became our personal paparazzi for the morning. The tour also started with a private car driving us between the different locations which was incredibly helpful as they clearly had a well rehearsed and efficient route of places to drop off and pick up so we didn't have to stand around. However... It felt like the guide had tried to memorise a script for the different places, but didn't have a great understanding of the historical facts around the script. He also had fairly mixed English. That combination meant that he either didn't understand our questions (despite several attempts to re-word them) or he answered with information which we fact-checked later and discovered was not true. We also found it funny that he admitted the souvenir shop he took us to was owned by his wife. The buffet lunch at the end of the tour was tasty and the restaurant staff friendly. If you want a fun morning with a private driver and a photographer for your Instagram, then this is probably a good fit. If you want a well-informed historical tour so you can learn a bit more deeply about the country, maybe not (or at least fact check what you're told later on).

Average experience - The tour was ok. A little scary at first to be honest because it was just me and my friend in the tour and the driver picked us up without the tour guide. The tour guide met us in the 3 eyed cave and the driver didn't speak any English and his driving wasn't good. We had lunch at a local restaurant and the lunch wasn't that great either.

Depressing.... So depressing !!! - We visited a nice Punta Canta resort and decided to take the day trip to Santo Domingo for the day. My goodness, it was SO depressing. The ride from Punta Cana to Santo Domingo we took the back highway which we got to see a lot of the natives and the extreme poor living conditions, lots of small run down shacks where people have to live and then we saw many groups of men standing on the side of the roads waiting for trucks to arrive to choose them for work/labor. Then on the highway poor people have to drive these very small scouters for transportation, with usually 2 people on a small scouter on the dangerous highway, no helmets and a run down scouter. Also when driving we saw piles and piles of garbage/trash just sitting on the side of the road, I found out from the travel guide that it is just what they do with their garbage.??? Once we arrived in Santo Domingo... oh my god!!! The stray dogs, everywhere!!! It was SO sad, unhealthy, dirtly groups of dogs just running the streets. And there was a "river' as we can into Santo Domingo and the smell is awful! Absolutely disgusting - but people were sighing in this river! We could not believe it. The smell of the river was so bad that we had to hold our breathe when we crossed over the bridge. And the city was so dusty and directly. This was not a good trip, I felt so bad for the people living here . Not all parts of Santo Domingo was like this, there was 'some' nice areas, but overall it seems as though the poverty there is overwhelming.
