Additional Information

Looking for an adventure in Santo Domingo? How about a hiking and rappelling trip filled with excitement and thrill.

The difficulty level is HIGH, so a good physical condition is paramount. Both rappelling and swimming are compulsory, but you don’t need prior experience or swimming expertise.

We convene at 6 am, then embark on a 2 hours’ drive to the village, where we indulge in a local Dominican breakfast and interact with rappelling specialists.

Next, we do some stretches and start our uphill and subsequently downhill journey towards the creek. As we ascend the stream, we encounter La Culebra waterfall, engage in a bit of rappelling as a rehearsal, and then proceed downstream to the Tabernacle Thundering Waterfall (yes, check out my other experience). This is where you get the opportunity to either opt for guided rappelling or engage in a free-fall down this 25-meter waterfall, a highlight of our adventure. We then continue downstream, encountering swimming holes, thrilling jumps, and slides to the final point.

Post adventure, we change outfits (keep in mind that there’s no changing room. We don’t wet ourselves to the car).

And finally, we head back for a hearty lunch and return to Santo Domingo with a sense of accomplishment by 5 pm.

Life changing - All I can say is wow. Ronnie and his team are highly experienced and I felt safe going on this insane adventure. We rapelled down two waterfalls, jumped off of cliffs, hiked, and swam the entire day. Also had breakfast and lunch and the locals house. I will be joining this group every year we visit the DR. 5 starts across the board. Best money spent on this trip.

The best EXperience you are going to get - I went with a trip with my friends as part of my birthday cause usually I like to do this kind of adventures. What I didn't know is that it was going to be as challenging and fun as it was. I definitely enjoyed every part of the trip. The food is 10/10 the guides are super friendly and take everything into consideration for safety. I will definitely recommend this trip to anyone who wants a very fun and different experience.

Challenging, but extremely rewarding experience! Highly recommended! - This was both mine and my fiancé's first time using the rappel and we couldn't ask for a better first-time experience than this. It was challenging, but we always felt safe and supported by Ronnie and this team, and of course, we had a lot of fun! Doing the Tabernacle trip first, took the experience to another level. 10/10 would recommend it again!

SUPER ADVENTURE - I have had quite a few experiences doing excursions, but the service that Ronnie provides has exceeded my expectations thanks to all the logistics that handle transportation, supervision, and activities. The service Ronnie provides is exceptional. I'm waiting for a next opportunity to go on an excursion with him. You don't know you need a guide like Ronnie until you live the experience.

A day for history - I love all! Beautiful landscapes and a unique experience, full of emotions and laughter. The team is very trained and attentive to our needs. Totally recommended. Wear gloves to protect your hands from rappelling and thank me later 🫶🏻

TREAT YOURSELF - WOW! Gotta be the best way to see one of the coolest spots on earth, and I couldn't imagine better people to do it with. The rocks were slippery on this misty day (my first time rappelling): Donnie, Ephraim, and José were there every step of the way making sure everything was safe and feeling right. The river in between the two surreal waterfalls has jumps and slides of different heights for those interested, and is, just like the mountain it runs through, like something out of a movie. Will definitely go again next year. (All I'd bring is a water bottle with a carabiner or strap.) Cheers and thanks for a great time!
