Great tour experience - We booked a private tour for 2 with Adilson and had an amazing time. He was very friendly and gave us a lot of information throughout the tour! The sharks and Salinas were a highlight and the view point was great to get a full view of the entire island! The tour was very well organized from the pick up to the various stops and drop off at the hotel. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who is looking to get a full overview of the island.

Sal in a nutshell - private couple tour - It was a private tour for two persons, my wife and me, with Adilson. He is a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable and friendly. We learnt a lot about Sal and Cape Verde. We were particularly grateful that he helped my wife who had difficulties in walking. And we could, being only two people, actually sit inside the car cabin instead of the rear outside. Superb experience!

Brilliant day out! - Brilliant local company! We arranged an airport pick up with them, then decided to book a full day private tour of the island. Communication has been very easy using WhatsApp and our tour was wonderful. We were picked up on time by a driver Tereesh and guide Clovis. We had a perfect day chatting about the island, its history, attractions and the lives of the people who live here. Sal experiences provide really professional guides (we got picked up from the airport by another guide 'Nani' who was also really knowledgeable). I really recommend using this company, the vehicle was comfortable and in great condition and driven really safely by Tereesh. The tour started in Santa Maria which helped us orientate ourselves for when we want to walk into town. Next we headed to the kite beach and Clovis explained how the beach is used by sea turtles for nesting and also seasonally for kite surfing. We then headed north up the island stopping for photos on the way, then on to the capital Espargos. After that into the desert to see the mirage, then across to the 'blue eye' cave and an opportunity to swim in the natural pool close by. Lunch was taken in the port town of Palmerios, the restaurant seemed to be connected with the local football club and had a nice community feel to it. As someone who is prone to getting an upset stomach, i'm always a bit cautious about eating out, but the food here was lovely and the restaurant clean - I highly recommend the locally caught tuna steak. After lunch we visited the Lemon sharks, this was the absolute highlight of the trip for me. A shark guide took us out into the shallow waters to meet baby sharks (if you don't have beach sandals the guides will rent some for €2). The baby sharks were about 60cm in length and stay close inshore for safety, they literally swam around our legs. Further out in deeper water about six adult sharks could be seen, our guide took us to about 20 meters away but any closer will scare them off. From this distance we could tell the size of the adults as they have 3 very distinct fins per shark, the adults being around 1.5 - 2.0 meters in length. The shark guides explained how the shark area is a protected zone and that the baby sharks are tagged with microchips as part of conservation efforts. Thankfully tourism seems to be helping protect this vulnerable species from fishing. The shark guides clean up a lot of the never ending amount of plastic that washes up on this side of the island and showed me several sacks full of plastic that they had collected the day before. Its well worth tipping the shark guides and encouraging their efforts to preserve the sharks and their habitat. Lastly we visited the old salt mine in the volcano caldera, the water inside is below sea level and 26 times more salty than the sea. Facilities are good and visitors can float in the brine much in the same way as being in the dead sea, feet and arms out in the air! All in all an excellent day out, seeing a fascinating island. Despite things improving since I last visited 10 years ago, there still is poverty on Sal, so it is worth bringing certain basic items such as school stationery to help the poorer people. A big thank you to Enliza at Sal Experiences for arranging for these items to be dropped of with community teachers in Espargos.

An amazing tour made better by an amazing guide! - We absolutely loved our time on Sal. Our guide was Nany and we were so grateful to have him. He was extremely knowledgeable about the island, its history and made us feel at ease from the get go. I would recommend doing the tour private as there was no rush whatsoever. The sites were amazing and we lucked out with the weather being able to swim at the blue eye. Nany once again stepped up and took photos for us and even positioned us into some cool photos on the desert. Can’t thank him enough for such an amazingly memorable day!

Perfect tour, best guide! - Dani was the best guide we could hope for! Great way to explore the island and get inspiration for further trips! Dani arrived perfectly on time, the two benches on the back of his pickup were a great way to see the island. At all stops he could answer any questions we had. Always laughing, he seems to know everybody on this island! Would recommend to anybody to see the island! Thanks Erik & Marina
