- Castlewood Canyon State Park - We can pick you up where you are staying and head to the beginning of the bike trail which is about 45 minutes from Denver or an hour from Colorado Springs.
We will start our bike trip at the northern end of Castle Rock Canyon which is a pretty canyon with a waterfall.
At the bottom of the park we continue on dirt roads thru the rolling countryside past some large ranches and beautiful homes. In the distance you can see some formations like Nemrick Butte, Corner Mountain and Rattlesnake Butte.
We will then get off the dirt road and continue our journey on the Greenland Open Space dirt Trail for several miles to Palmer Lake.
From Palmer lake we continue on the Santa Fe Bike trail, which is named after the Santa Fe Railroad is runs parallel too. This trail gives nice views of the front range and it passes thru the Air Force Academy before heading into Colorado Springs along the Monument Creek. We end our trip just before we get into the commercial areas of Colorado Springs but people can have the option of going a little further to end their trip at the Garden of the Gods.
