Great Day in Cozumel Mayan Ruins/lunch & Tequila Tasting - We booked the Mayan Tour/lunch/ and Tequila tasting with Viator for Cozumel. We were pleased with our driver, Gerado who picked us up exactly where we needed to be. He was not JUST a driver but very informative as we rode to the ruins. He introduced us to the owner who introduced us to our guide, Pedro. Pedro was amazing and gave just the 4 of us in our group a private tour, avoiding the crowds and making our day memorable. When I mentioned I loved the Hibiscus, he picked one for me to put in my hair!!!! Lunch was slow but they were very busy and waiter apologized over and over. We were late but they squeezed us into the tequila tasting and still got us back to the ship on time. Would highly recommend this experience.

Mayan ruins tour on New Year’s Eve day - Señor Taz was prompt, kind and informative. He told us a lot about the island. He got us wonderful tour guides at San Gervasio and the tequila tour. Our lunch at the beach was excellent. If you are interested in meeting locals and learning about the culture I would highly recommend this tour.

Best tour guide! - Excellent tour guide Josue aka Josh! Josue was extremely informative and knowledgeable! The tour at San Gervasi would not have been the same without Josue….he taught us about so much history! Definitely would book another tour with Josue!!

Love, love, loved this tour! - This was an amazing tour! Our driver, Taz and guide, Pedro were both phenomenal. Both were very knowledgeable and personable. We went to a small beach where we had lunch and our drive purchased guacamole and ceviche for us so we could try it since it wasn’t included. It was a private tour so it was just our family in the van and they made it feel like they were friends showing us around their town. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting a personable tour of the island without the congestion of other people.

Great excursion! - We had a fantastic time, our guide met us at the port by our cruise ship and made our journey flexible for our family. He was knowledgeable and shared lots of information about the Mayan culture. We skipped out on the tequila portion of the tour since we had small children and were able to have extra beach time which they loved and the adults had a few extra drinks on the beach. The beach area was beautiful with lots to enjoy.

Great Learning experience - Driver Jose and our guide Alfonso were the best!! We had a private tour of of the ruins and of the island. We opted out of the snorkeling so they took us to other places of interest to us. We went to the churches, hospitals, and cemetery. We enjoyed a spice store visit and several memorials and monuments around the island. We learned the history of the island and tasted it as well. Get a private tour!!!!! It is worth the extra pennies for what you get.

Mayan Ruins and Beach - We enjoyed this excursion so much. Paco and Margarita were excellent tour guides and we learned so much. The day also included a visit to a bee sanctuary and some time on a public beach. There was a bar and restaurant near the beach and we sipped a couple of beers and had nachos. The only draw back was the WINDY day. But of course, the tour leaders had no control over that.

Awesome Tour! - Our tour guide Karima was amazing! She was so much fun and saved the day by taking us to a part of the island where we escaped the rain and were able to enjoy the beautiful beach.

Highlight of our trip! - Raul was our guide and I cannot express enough how wonderful he was. Even before the departure time, I was contacted to see if we’d like to just be picked up at our resort directly rather than meet at the designated spot. It was raining the morning of the excursion, so I reached out to see if it was going to be cancelled - they offered to either reschedule for us, or go ahead as planned. We opted to go ahead since a little rain wasn’t going to melt us :) Raul was right on time and so friendly - as a Cozumel resident since birth, he took us on a tour of the island and told us lots of cool facts that we probably would t have learned elsewhere. The Mayan ruins were incredible - the guide we had told us so much about the history of not only the Cozumel ruins, but about the neighboring ruins on the mainland, including Chichen Itza, and about how the Mayans ancestry is traced all the way to Mongolia. After the ruins, Raul was waiting for us and took us to a great tequila farm where we were taught about the history of tequila and how it’s made, and treated to a tasting of several different kinds (all amazingly smooth). Finally, Raul took us to a little beach bar where we had a great lunch of fajitas. Raul also gave us recommendations for local restaurants as well as a great place for snorkeling if you wanted to really see the reef (Sky Reef!). I cannot recommend this tour enough, and it was definitely the highlight of our short weekend trip.
