Excellent - Sergio our guide was fabulous and so patient with me. I was unsure of scuba. he calmed my nerves and held my hand (literally) until I was comfortable. He explained everything throughly. I would highly recommend this experience if you want to get an idea of what scuba entails without getting fully certified. Thank you so much highlight of our trip.

Checo was a great tour... - Checo was a great tour guide. He gave us all the safety instructions before the activity and during the activity he was always engaged. I will definitely recommend this tour … impressive… the tour was long and beautiful

Highly recommend chankanaub dive with MJ Dive Shop - The dive master Juan was personable and a great educator. This shore dive was easy and fun with lots of great sea life to view right off shore. I would recommend it to a beginner or a certified diver who wants a fun shallow easy dive

Amazing experience - This was an amazing experience for my family. The dive shop was extremely nice and professional. This really was perfect for beginners. My husband and kids were able to dive but I have some anxiety issues. Our instructor never pushed me and let me go at my own pace. When I couldn’t stay down he let me stay near the surface to follow my family and enjoy the views..he even checked on me. He tried to help me a few other times get down but I just couldn’t which was ok. My family was safe with him and had an amazing time. Would highly recommend this to anyone. We even got to see a sea turtle up close!

Highly recommend - First time scuba divers and had a great experience! Did not feel rushed and instructor was great. Wish they had taken more/better pictures and videos of us for the $50 we paid but otherwise highly recommend.

Would 100% go again! - Our scuba guide was very helpful and informative! We went to a few different statues, a very old cannon from a ship and an underwater cavern. We got to see a ton of fish and animals!

We had a great experience! - Our instructor Juan was very patient with us. What I really appreciated was that after our dive, he sat down with us and explained what we had done incorrectly during the dive and how we should correct it when we decided to scuba dive again.

Juan was very... - Juan was very knowledgeable and patient with newbie questions during training. As we started the dive they were vigilant on ensuring the groups safety was priority. Dive was beautiful.

Must do when in Yucatán Peninsula - We took the ferry to Cozumel for the day and started with the Scuba diving trip we booked through Viator. Our dive master as MJ's aquatic, Luis, was great all around. He was very friendly and ensured we knew what we needed and felt safe before heading to the water. We are 1st timers. Once in the water, we slowly got comfortable with the gear and orientation and started descending up to the allowed limit for newbies. Luis made sure to point out interesting things to look at, from corals to shells, stingrays, and some fish. We opted for the optional photos the 2nd diver took of us as they were much better than my GoPro and the price was negotiable and acceptable. As part of the park pass ($5 each paid at the entrance), we got free snorkeling gear which we used on our own for 2 hours. Do take advantage of that! The beach in Cozumel is rocky, which makes it perfect for snorkeling and scuba as opposed to the bare sand beach where we were staying in Playa Del Carmen.
