Omar was our guide for... - Omar was our guide for the San Miguel food tour, and he made it such a fun and informative experience! Not only did he know so much about the local food and restaurants, but he also shared the history of San Miguel and how it shaped the cuisine. I’d highly recommend this tour with Omar!

Pick this one! - The perfect tour that combines food and history. It was a great way to learn a concise but thorough history of the city while enjoying really good food! Omar is super knowledgeable and his love for this city shows. We can’t wait to come back for his tacos and tequila tour!

Great food tour filled with historical factoids!! - Great way to eat some traditional food and also learn the historical origins of it as well! This food tour also covered both the cultural and societal history of San Miguel De Allende. Omar was our guide and he was funny, informative and shared such wonderful information. He also pointed out some "must try" restaurants and food stands for more local/specialized cuisine.

Very basic intro to Mexican Food. Avoid if you’re a foodie. - We did the taste of San Miguel, and unfortunately it failed expectations for us. This tour is good for people who have never traveled in Mexico and have little to no exposure to Mexican food before arriving in San Miguel. The tour introduces you to very basic Mexican food- Tortilla soup, Mole, Guacamole, churros and ice cream. And it wasn’t even the best examples of these foods. This tour is not for the more experienced foodie. We were hoping to either be j trenched to hidden gems, or local specialties (not generic dishes represented in most regions). Arguably, they were showing the SMA version of these foods- but it wasn’t even a showcase of the best in town. I wish we had the 3 hours back so that we could go to any number of amazing restaurants and stands in SMA on our own. The tour guide was nice. Spoke a lot on the detail and history of the basic dishes, and sent a list of recommended places to visit after the tour. I would take the 5* review with a grain of salt, because the company contacts you and asks you to post good reviews only and contact them first if it’s less than 5*. I am giving 3* because it’s not a bad tour if you’ve never had Mexican food and if you don’t have 15 minutes to look up the best places to eat in SMA. But if you can do that- this tour really doesn’t offer any incremental value- and it’s not even the cost of the tour- we and only 2 days in SMA and I wish we had the 3 hours back.
