Visiting TEOTIHUACAN with Ruben as your Guide will quickly become a lifelong memory - As someone who has traveled worldwide with tour guide experiences from Rome to Japan, visiting TEOTIHUACAN with Ruben as your Tour Guide will quickly become one of the most significant cultural experiences in your lifetime. His knowledge and passion for his homeland exude with each step and minute. You will leave with a deeper understanding of Mayan life and the geopolitical history of the region.

Great experience for our small group - It was great getting a private tour for our group of four. Ruben was very knowledgeable and friendly. He said he had been giving tours of the pyramids for 8 years, and was a history and English teacher in town prior to that. We ubered from Mexico City (which took a little less than an hour) and met him at a cafe near the pyramids at 8 am. The tour itself was about 2.5 hours long. Highly recommend this tour for small groups, it’s a great way to experience the pyramids and Ruben is fantastic!

Great and knowledgeable tour guide! - Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and it was great to have a local show us around the area. Seeing recreations of what the pyramids used to look like was so cool and we appreciated all of the supplemental information he provided. The pace of the tour was perfect for our group. Seeing the obsidian workshop and the stores at the end of the tour was also very interesting. We also booked transportation through this service which was very convenient - our driver even waited while we had lunch at the nearby La Gruta to drive us back to the city. I would recommend this experience for anyone looking for a great tour hosted by a local guide!

Our guide, Rueben, was... - Our guide, Rueben, was excellent. He grew up in the area and was a wealth of information. We met him at his restaurant, close to gate 4, which was a little tricky because the restaurant name is not on the building. I’d recommend that people meet him at gate 4.

Just arrange your own tour for half - In November we asked the concierge of our hotel for a driver/guide. An über taxi is also fine. You can determine your own time. We agreed on a price of mx$3500
Entrance costs $90 pp. Continue to Luna Pyramid, there is easy parking, less busy.
With Google Maps the layout is very simple. Ignore all Mexicans along the road. You decide.
Think about lunch because the restaurants are NOT within walking distance. So need a taxi. We brought our guide with us and considered lunch as a tip.
Our lunch was in the cave: La Gruta. In November it was not busy but I think booking in advance is advisable. Food excellent quality, price slightly above average but you get a fantastic experience!
Don't forget to bring a hat against the sun because it is hot.
