A Morning of Anticipation

The sun had barely begun its ascent over the horizon when I found myself eagerly awaiting the start of a new adventure. The allure of Puerto Rico’s lush landscapes and hidden waterfalls had drawn me in, and I was ready to dive into the heart of the island’s natural beauty. As a former professional surfer, the ocean has always been my playground, but today, the rainforest was calling my name.

Our guide, Andres, arrived promptly at 9:15 AM, his warm smile and easygoing demeanor setting the tone for the day. With a small group of just six, the tour promised an intimate experience, allowing us to truly connect with the environment and each other. Andres’ knowledge of the island was impressive, and his passion for sharing its wonders was infectious. As we made our way to El Yunque National Forest, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement bubbling within me.

We made our way to Playa Luquillo, a stunning beach lined with vibrant kiosks offering a taste of the island’s culinary delights. The aroma of freshly cooked dishes filled the air, and I couldn’t wait to sample the local fare.

Savoring a plate of mofongo and sipping on a refreshing piña colada, I felt a deep sense of contentment. The beach was a picture-perfect setting, the gentle waves lapping at the shore as the sun began its descent. It was the perfect end to a day filled with adventure and discovery.

As we made our way back to San Juan, I reflected on the day’s experiences.
