- Adventure Mermaid \<3ð¦ - This instructional snorkel experience takes place in a protected bay perfect for beginner snorkeling. This is a beginner / non-swimmer experience suitable for all experience levels. Here’s what you can expect:
- We provide thorough training on equipment and conduct around marine life for the best experience.
- We issue sanitized and high-quality equipment, including mask, snorkel, fins, and life vest (optional).
- We then lead guests into shallow water where we give further instructions and encourage practice as needed
- We guide guests to see a variety of reef fish (blue tang, parrot fish, angel fish, and more!)
- We end our snorkel experience talking about what we saw.

Guests can use the nearby restroom facilities to change or shower.
Instructor will provide access to any media captured during the experience (video clips and portraits) to enjoy and share on social media. Media cannot be guaranteed.
(During the experience, we lock personal items in our secure vehicle.)

Additional Information
We are SCUBA dive professionals (a woman-owned company) who love to play in the sea (we call ourselves Adventure Mermaids!). Making people smile and laugh on vacation brings us the greatest joy, and if we can show you the underwater world and teach you about the tropical reef fish and turtles you see, all the better!
(Please note: This is an adult experience. The minimum age is 15.)
As PADI professionals, we teach the skills needed to have a blast snorkeling (safely), and many people who have snorkeled for years tell us that they learned something from us from this experience that would have made prior snorkel tours so much better!
You see, we take time to teach the necessary skills and floating tips that make snorkeling enjoyable. And it pays off in tons of fun!
Worried about safety? All equipment is sanitized with an EPA-approved disinfectant between uses, and social distance is maintained throughout the experience. We take pride in being as COVID-19-safe as possible.
- Not recommended for people with fear or anxiety about entering water or swimming.
- Not recommended for people unable to comfortably walk short distances

Perfect! - Halie took the time to educate us so we had a marvellous experience! She taught us how and what marine life to look for. Took us to areas in the bay so we would have success! You have to go! You won’t believe how awe inspiring is to watch the turtles!!! And she’s fun and quick to help you have the Beat Experience!
PS: … and she makes you laugh! There’s video so you can share with your friends! It was so fantastic I told my Uber driver to recommend her!

100% do it!!! - Hailie is the best! We had an actual scuba lesson, she showed us possible fish we could see and taught us about the equipment before we even got in the water. This is an actual lesson where she demonstrates and shows you how to snorkel, this is not where they just give you equipment and let you loose. We were able to see several colorful fish and my son saw a sea turtle. She takes video and pics and sends them to you afterwards. It was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it! (Take the meds as recommended if you get sea sick, the floating made me a little sick and I had to cut my swim short)

Amazing instructor Hailie! - Hailie from Adventure Mermaid was my guide. She is a rock star who cares deeply about what she does, and is most concerned with your safety and success with the experience. I was a first time snorkeler and her guidance was excellent. I had a lot of fun, and we saw turtles. Hailie also took to a of pictures and videos, can’t wait to see them!
I will note:
I had booked for Spanish but the group was English. In my case it really didn’t matter, but for some that might be a problem. I imagine this was TripAdvisor boo-boo and not Adventure Mermaid.
TripAdvisor also did not send a link to Adventure Mermaid’s website which has exact instructions on how to find the meeting spot. I found it by asking around once I got to the beach.
I highly recommend this experience!

🐢 - I wanted to snorkel close to our hotel so we chose Adventure Mermaid. Hailie was great! She explains everything in depth and will ease your mind if you have never snorkeled before. We have been many times and probably would have done better with a higher level of snorkeling but it was still lots of fun. I wanted to see a sea turtle and she made that happen! It was so cool to see them in their habitat under water. We also saw several tangs and a shrimp. The snorkeling is in a small bay area with quite a few other groups snorkeling but it all worked out fine. We had plenty of time to explore on our own. She was easy to find when we arrived by Uber and welcoming. She has a box to put your things in to lock up in her car. She is also an experienced diver. Maybe next trip we will try scuba. It would be great if you would offer other snorkeling trips outside of San Juan for more experienced groups. Thank you!
