A beautiful and meaningful day in the mountains - Our trip to Utuado was absolutely incredible and one of the highlights of our time in Puerto Rico! The experience had the perfect balance of history, adventure, and culture. We began at a Taino ceremonial ground, where our guide shared fascinating stories about the island’s indigenous heritage — it really brought the site to life. This is one of the few tours that offers such an in-depth look at Taino history, which made it feel especially unique and meaningful. From there, we cooled off in the river and even climbed a beautiful waterfall, which was both fun and exhilarating. Later, we visited a sustainable farm and learned how the community is preserving traditions while caring for the land — such an inspiring part of the day. What made the experience extra special was our guide, Tristan. Not only was he knowledgeable and welcoming, but he surprised us with a delicious local treat that made the day feel even more authentic and personal. On top of all that, Tristan is great photographer If you’re looking for an unforgettable way to connect with Puerto Rico’s culture, history, and natural beauty, this tour is a must-do!

A Meaningful Puerto Rican Experience Beyond the Usual - This was an incredible experience from start to finish. Starting the day with strong Puerto Rican coffee was the perfect kick-off. The renovated museum was eye-opening—I walked away with a deeper understanding of Puerto Rico’s indigenous history and the significance of the archeological site. Visiting the sacred grounds was powerful, and swimming in the river was a refreshing highlight in a quiet, natural spot. Lunch was fresh and delicious, enjoyed in a peaceful setting, and exploring the off-grid farm and adobe homes was really impressive. What I appreciated most was how the day balanced learning, culture, nature, and food—it never felt rushed or forced. It was the kind of experience that leaves you with a lasting connection to the island. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for something meaningful and memorable in Puerto Rico.

Original - It was a very rainy day when the trip was originally scheduled so rescheduled the day after hoping for better weather, Unfortunately it was still rainy but was leaving the next day and really wanted to explore the Taino Grounds. Tristán was able to make the trip work for us. We went to the ceremonial grounds and it felt very spiritual along with the added stories from Tristan and the other touring group. It was so amazing to see the petroglyphs in person! From there while it continued with heavy downpours we went deeper into the mountains. Passed by the many Rivers that were overflowing with water from the rainfall. Greeted by one of the amazing neighbors that told me “he just lives a simple life” but his knowledge of the rainfall just by looking at the water and the many plants around him seemed anything but simple i think he said he teaches in a close by university- amazing guy. Then we went to a hidden retreat with the most amazing view and served a delicious lunch! and we got to hear the rainfall onto the tin roof while we enjoyed the meal that was prepared by the host! They have four wonderful and protective dogs and two cute cats - very inviting and thankful for them sharing their view and home with us for a moment. Great experience and very different from other tours. Next time would love to dive into the rivers! Maybe you all can and hopefully enjoy it more than My kin and I did! Thanks Tristan. Many many thanks to you and everyone else we met during the trip!!

Great option to get out of the city - This tour is a lovely option to get out of San Juan for the day. It is a fun combination of activities learning about Taíno ancestral history, cooling off at a secluded waterfall, and eating a delicious lunch at a self-sustaining farm. The roads to get out to the ancestral grounds and farm were narrow and windy, so I was happy that I didn't have to drive them. Tristan was a great driver and tour guide as he shared local facts at a good pace along the way. Caguana was beautiful and peaceful with an interesting history. Onto the waterfall and river spot, we had it all to ourselves and the water was so refreshing on a hot day! It was also an interesting tour at the farm and amazing to hear how they got started and see all the hard work they've put into it. I had to catch a flight at the end of the tour, so Tristan was kind enough to accommodate having my drop-off location be at the San Juan airport. Thanks for the great tour!

Naldo and Alexa who run the farm are amazing. I have been on many tours with tour guide Tristian. He is an awesome tour guide. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Real Borikén experience - Tristan gave us an incredible tour with three unique stops. If you like history, culture, swimming, eating, or seeing natural beauty, you will enjoy this excursion! We never felt rushed or overwhelmed. Tristan and his friends Naldo and Alexa could not have been more accommodating and they taught us so much about Puerto Rican history and the land. And Tristan made sure to take lots of photos for us so we can remember the trip forever. I truly can’t think of a single thing that could be improved upon.

History, culture, and nature extravaganza - Tristan provided a truly unforgettable experience for us. The tour was the perfect mixture of everything we love- history, culture, physical activity, beautiful nature, social connection, and food! With Tristan, you not only get factual information about tour-related topics, but also an in-depth understanding of how these things came to be and how they are evident in present day. Tristan is very reliable and communicative- answering questions leading up to the tour about what to wear, timeline, etc. I highly recommend this tour for people who are seeking an off the beaten path experience with a highly skilled guide.
