In approximately one hour, we’ll set foot in what is arguably the most untouched and mesmerizing woodland you’ll encounter. The Espiritu Santo River meanders through the lush valley, enveloped by the tropical forest. Our adventure includes a one-hour trek alongside this river. Additional Information

Take a journey with us to the secluded, undisclosed and ‘secret’ territories of El Yunque, bypassing the traditional ‘slides’. This is a rare destination, uncharted for the typical traveler. We will likely be the sole visitors in the region. You can count on this getaway to be the most memorable part of your island visit. Join us in discovering a less traversed path. Avoid the unauthentic experience provided by other companies that transport you in crowded 30-passenger vans to places intended to be untouched and serene. Our trail leads to unmarked regions in El Yunque with very little human presence, maintaining its pristine nature. El Yunque has a distinct ecosystem unlike any other, steeped in rich history disclosed during the drive. With stunning landscapes during the commute and an even more magnificent rainforest, it is an adventure-filled day with river crossings, immaculate blue water pools, cliff jumping and more. Ensure not to miss this opportunity!

Worth the effort - This experience was a blast. I chose a 1 pm start time because my teenagers didn't want to get up early, but I wish I had done an earlier time. Be prepared for a really physical activity. The hike up involves climbing up a steep, rocky slope, and the way down is equally tricky. Our guide, Jean Louis, was really great at showing us (okay, mostly me) how to place my hands and feet to maintain stability. Although we weren't alone at the waterfall, it did feel pretty private. Jean Louis took some great pictures for us/of us. He was generous with his time and shared a lot of his knowledge of the area. He was also willing to tweak the plan to fit our needs, which I appreciated. All in all, I would recommend this to people who are already physically active and who don't mind getting wet and dirty. I needed the following day to recuperate--I wouldn't recommend planning a hard physical activity or long walking tour the next day. I could see why closed toe shoes are recommended, but I did fine in Tevas (and they're easy to swim in). I think watershoes would also be okay. My kids wore sneakers, which were fine for the hike, but they needed to take them off to swim.

Solo travelers, use this company :) - I had a great time. Jean was very knowledgeable about PR, El Yunque, the Taino natives. Etc. The climb wasn’t as hard as I thought, and with Jean’s help, it was fun and pretty easy to maneuver. The hidden falls were gorgeous and I can’t wait to share the photos I took. So much to photograph in only 5 hours. This was a solo trip, but I felt very safe. Great tour! Will certainly use this company when I return with friends.

Highlight of The Trip - WONDERFUL hosts! The location is breathtaking. The crew is equipped with all that is necessary, including life vests, snacks and water. There’s also great educational information about the locations and the history behind it. Their hospitality and awesomeness is the best I’ve ever had, it felt like we were family. Definitely would recommend this tour to anyone!

Very slippery rock "hike," not a trail hike. - Although the experience had its good points, it's important to know that this "hike" is not a hike on trails, but on rocks (very slippery, wet rocks!). Two of us couldn't really complete the "hike," because of the treacherous nature of the "trail," which is all slippery rocks up to a waterfall. The guide was outstanding, and did his best to help us, but it wasn't the hike on trails we were expecting. The water was gorgeous, but just be aware.
