Our journey begins at Cueva del Indio, also known as Indian Cave, situated in the municipality of Arecibo. It’s renowned for having the largest collection of petroglyphs on the island’s coast. Sculpted by sea waves into the limestone, the cave opens skyward. You will have the chance to marvel at its magnificence, oversized cliffs, archways, and natural rock bridges. Following this, we will wander off to the township of Manati. We start with a gentle stroll near the shores leading us to a beautiful small beach housing an above-ground cave known as ‘Cueva de las Golondrinas’ or Swallow Bird Cave. During their breeding season, the cave is bustling with these birds. Along the way, you will spot local land and hermit crabs, and other fauna inhabiting the island’s coastline. The guide will familiarize you with the intricacies of this locality, showcasing awe-inspiring views and numerous spots ideal for photo-ops.
