Recommended for those looking for a short urban excursion - A great way to find your bearings in San Jose. The tour hit a number of landmarks and included an authentic Costa Rican meal.

VIP trip in Style! - Very efficient service, we were picked up at our hotel. The guide was perfectly bilingual and extremely knowledgeable, and made the historical events in an interesting story, so as not to sound boring!
We were showed all the places of interest, had a typical Costa Rican lunch and enjoyed the whole trip!

Exploring the city with family - My family and I really enjoyed this tour. We learned a lot. The tour guide and the other people were wonderful. It was the perfect amount of time. The included lunch was great. This was a well organized, coordinated and informative trip.

Enjoyable city tour - It was a wonderful experience to the city sightseeing tour with VIP bus. Complete tour was well organised. It covered all important places, Guide Hector was great and knowledgeable. Driver was professional. Lunch was organised in a good restaurant and was sumptuous.

Fuimos con mi abuela y a ella le encanto ir conociendo y aprendiendo sobre San Jose y Costa Rica - Everyone was very informative.
I loved the music from the señor.
The tour was long and worth the money with all the site seeing and our tour guide Hector was great.
Very much recommend!

Great Way to See San Jose - This tour was perfect for me as a solo traveler with limited time.
The bus pick up/ drop off at my hotel was convenient. The guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable. Plus I felt very safe.
The tour allowed for a quick glance through many of San Jose’s main attractions.

Excellent Introduction - On our first day in San Jose, this was a wonderful introduction to the city. The bus was double decker, with great views. We saw a beautiful historical mural of Costa Rican history in an art museum that was once the country’s first airport. We walked through the Central Market, had a meal of traditional food in a funky restaurant, saw the Costa Rica National Monument and went to the beautiful lobby of the National Theater. We ended the tour at the Gold Museum. On the bus there was a guitar player serenading us with Costa Rican songs. Our guide Hector did an outstanding job in Spanish and English. I appreciated his care with the group. San Jose isn’t the easiest terrain to navigate. The bus had umbrellas available for the inevitable rain.
Without our own transportation, this was a fine way to see the city. Even with a car, I would not want to drive in San Jose!
We were a couple, but this trip would be fine for older kids.

WHY ONCE TRY TO COLLECT SALES TAX AND IF PAY CASH THEN NOT???? - SOME STRANGE EXPERIENCE:
tour was ok, but a strange thing happened. We booked the tour of San Jose right from the Hilton La Sabana hotel. They booked us on the tour and told us we pay the person downstairs right before leaving on the tour. Still fine. But then, the most strange thing happened: we wanted to pay by credit card, still ok, ONLY: the person collecting the money wanted to add sales tax extra 13 % to the price of 79 US dollars. So we said "and if we pay cash?" and then there was no charge of 13 % and we paid the price the hotel had quoted us, at 79 US dollars. VERY STRANGE, or not? The person who collected the money for the tour company also issued us upon us asking, a receipt. The company who issues the receipt is NOT VIP City Bus, but a company "Tico Travel" is shown on the receipt. ALSO: when I asked for a receipt, he filled out the receipt and required me to sign at the bottom. Stupidly, I signed. Then realized later I had signed a waiver, that they are not responsible for any personal injury and and and. Never had that - I pay cash and get a receipt, and to get the receipt I have to sign that they have no responsibility whatsoever, in case of accident etc. etc.???? Very strange the whole experience. Why are they trying to get more $ if you pay with credit card - while we had been told by the otel the price was 79 US dollars?

Dismal Driver Service - Dear VIP Bus City
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the Service I received on one of your tours I conducted last week with my family in Costa Rica.
During the journey, the driver showed an unpleasant and contemptuous attitude towards his partner’s work. He also behaved aggressively on the road, offending and treating other drivers badly.
