On this journey, you will experience a blend of excitement and high-octane adventure. The Pacuare River, known globally for its picturesque environment accentuated by its verdant canyons adorned by cascading waterfalls on both ends. Within its rich environment of flora and fauna, you will discover sloth bears, toucans, parakeets, coatis, a vivid spectrum of butterflies and frogs. Also, its crystal-clear waters add a thrilling touch, making it an adventure trip you will never forget. No individuals below the age of 12 are permitted.
- What to bring: wear rafting clothes (light shoes that will stay on, swimming suit, shorts, nylon shirt), sunscreen, water bottle, change of clothes, towel, insect repellent, a bit of cash. All luggage will be kept in lockers.

Do it! Have a blast! - This was one of the most fun adventures ever! Our guide, Louise, was amazing! We had so much fun! It included breakfast & lunch. They picked us up from my hotel in San José and dropped me off at my new hotel in La Fortuna. I am 64, my husband 66. I have never been white water rafting, although he has been numerous times even though it had been 25+ years. Some of the rapids were a level 4, but honestly it was beyond fun!

Fantastic two day trip down the Pacuare River! - Our terrific guide, Fernando, has rafted this river for 20 years, so you can have utmost confidence in him and your ability to navigate class 3 and 4 rapids! DO the 2day trip if you can- lots of time to swim in waterfalls, eat lunch on the beach, hang out at the lovely (but Spartan-think camping) remote Pacuare River Lodge. He cooks pretty well too!

What a beautiful experience with Roberto! - What a fun filled day!!!!
I want to say that although the drive to the river is about 2.5 hours, it does not feel that long. It is a pretty easy drive.
The guides were all knowledgeable and friendly, but Roberto is something else! He made our trip unforgettable!!! Easy-going, funny, and so experienced on the water - he totally made our day!!!! He took care of everyone around him, whether on or off the boat!
These trips are truly made by guides like Roberto. We are so thankful that we got to spend a day with him!!! Here is to many many more! Pura vida!

We had a great... - We had a great experience. Our guide Andres was excellent, funny and very informative. The breakfast and lunch provided were very tasty and the whole trip went smoothly and was very well-organized. Would highly recommend!

Maravilhoso - Very fun! It's worth it!
The van picked us up at our hotel in Puerto Viejo and we traveled about 2 hours. Arriving there, they served a great breakfast. Soon afterwards we are taken to the river and one of the instructors was explaining the commands and safety instructions. Already in the river, the little start is a very easy part of practice, you will feel comfortable even if you have never done this activity. The first descents are exciting but as soon as you catch the way, the secret is to hold your feet tight in the kakaka va tennis boat for greater safety. The landscapes are stunning!!! The instructors all very good and fun, ah and also go 2 kayaks in case something happens. Finally they serve a well served lunch and the van takes us back to the hotels. Anyway, we love it!! I highly recommend!

Super experience, definitely do it when you're around! - What a fantastic trip, we only enjoyed four hours with a super smile on our face. Our captain Suce (ryan) was just GREAT. A lot of humor, a lot of info, a lot of positive feedback and most importantly...he guided us through all levels perfectly. I would recommend it to anyone! Another tip...we were in a hotel near Turrialba but the starting place of the rafting is a lot further south, where you can probably also be picked up by the organization.

Amazing! - This tour was fantastic!!!
My warning to all of the pale people: WEAR PANTS AND LONG SLEEVES. You get wet enough that you will NOT be hot. Just do it. You can't keep the sunscreen on and you will burn. My legs are purple and I applied five times in four hours. Just take my word for it.

Amazing experience! - If you have the opportunity to do this tour do not let it pass, the landscapes are beautiful, undoubtedly very fun, the instructors very patient and professional, they take care of you all the time and they are guiding you all the way to rafting.
It was our first time and we would definitely do it again, we hope to return soon.

Wonderful experience - Everything went as planned. The guides were exceptional. Roberto was a life saver and made it a once in a lifetime experience. Would recommend him to everyone. He was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Good with teenagers and older people alike.
