Good Intro Tour. - Great tour. From the convenience of the initial pickup to the final story, it was great. The company really works the VIP in their name. The tour guide gave some good insights into the CR history and how the city and country developed over time. I have a much better perspective on the country and city after the tour. I’m also better able to navigate the various neighborhoods as well.

San Jose Walking and Bus City Tour, a nice experience - In October 2023 we went to Costa Rica for the Caribbean carnival in Limón and to visit the capital San José. We booked the San Jose Walking and Bus City Tour, to see some of the landmarks of the city San José. It's quite an expensive tour to be honest, so you expect more. They picked us up on time at the hotel, even before the scheduled time as we were still having breakfast and the driver nicely waited a few minutes for us. All in all it was a good experience and the music in the bus was nice. A little more freedom and time at the central market would've been nice to see more of the market to get familiar with their tropical fruits and vegetables. The food at the restaurant, at the end of the tour for lunch, was very good.

Nice city tour - This was a very good tour of the central city. They picked us up at the hotel on time. We started at the art museum and learned about the beginning of Costa Rica. We had about 30 minutes there, then we left on the double decker bus to the central market. I don't remember the tour guides name but he was very good. We made several stops and had a traditional Costa Rican lunch. Our final stop was at the museum of gold. This was a very nice tour, and the tour guide spoke very good English and Spanish.

Very Average - The museum was my favorite part of the tour. It was fine, San Jose isn’t really a memorable city so it just didn’t have much impact. The parks are pretty run down, the Market is gross and old… The lunch provided was average at best. Nothing to write home about.

It could have been better - We did not really enjoy this tour. The tour guide was talking too fast that we barely understood what he's saying. Some of our family missed tp get off some stops since it was not explained well where we were going and how long we were staying before we got off the bus on each stop.

Wish I did a different tour! - Well, they almost left me on the bus since I'm disabled and am slow. The guide spoke way too fast and also didn't want until I got to the spot where he was talking. I used to be a tour guide so I understand what it is all about.

I strongly recommend you skip this tour.... - This was undoubtedly the worst activity I took part in during my two weeks in Costa Rica. There was almost nothing redeeming about this tour, Don Rodrigo and his guitar aside. Firstly, it's a boring tour - our guide, Maria, who claimed this was a "historical" tour spent her time pointing out noteworthy landmarks such as "the building housing the electric utility company" or "the building where we pay our income taxes". It's extremely rushed, leading it to become disorganized. When you stop at one of four or five points of interest in the tour the guide rushes you the whole 10-15 minutes they allot for said landmark; such that you don't get to see much. Our guide spent more time waiting on certain passengers to show up at pickup points and hunting down stragglers between points of interest than she did giving us an actual tour. This in spite of the fact she told my wife she could not use the bathroom at various points of the tour and told us she was not responsible if we did not make our way back to the group when when we told her we were going to use a restroom at the market. The crowning moment of the afternoon was at the highly anticipated Teatro Nacional, where upon arrival the staff turned us away as there was a private event going on at that moment. Unsurprisingly, our guide had no idea the museum was taking part in this days-long city-wide event (Transitarte Festival) or that had we come earlier in the day we would have been able to walk right in. Her suggestion: come back on your own in two hours and pay to get in, again. If you want to visit points of interest in San Jose such as the gold museum, teatro nacional, or the central market I would highly recommend doing it on your own, at your own pace. Most of the places you visit are within walking distance of each other, otherwise you can affordably uber around San Jose.
