Cartago - Paul was great! He took us over to Cartago which has two historical places that are a must see, thanks again Paul!

Great Tour! - Our guide Paul has taught us a lot about both San Jose and Cartago. We saw the Basílica de Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles - Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels. He told us some good stories about the alleged miracles. We also had good cultural and historical information. I can't imagine a better tour.

Don’t waste your time - I should’ve heeded other reviews. The guide did not show up at the scheduled meeting point and then ghosted us when we tried to reach him

Guide didn’t show up with no advance notice - Guide didn’t show up. The tour was cancelled 30mins after it was meant to start, only after I tried reaching out to figure out what was happening.

Really disappointed with the tour and the company’s reaction. If you advertise a service and don’t deliver then offer a - The company offered us a 3 hour private tour of the city, which we paid for in advance.
Our guide arrived 20 minutes late with no suggested itinerary, and soon after we started walking toward a city park. The guide suggested a coffee stop which used up another 40 minutes of our tour then concluded the tour at 15:40. So in all our 3 - hour tour lasted 1 hour 30 minutes.
I contacted the tour company and they apologised and said that the guide did not follow the brief, however, did not offer a rebate or refund.

Missed the opportunity - The tour guide did not show up. Viator customer service, however, was excellent. We were given an address that the local police were unsure of so we were running back and forth trying to find the right spot. We tried to call the Lokafy number and text the guide and email. Unfortunately, no one showed up. Viator customer service tried to contact the local service but also could not reach anyone so they refunded us the money.

Guide did not show up - The tour guide Mauricio confirmed meeting time and location the night before but he never showed up . He completely went silent on the day of the scheduled tour. It was too bad. They had to refund.

Absolute disaster: the private tour guide who never came! - Having booked well ahead of time this private tour for 3 hours with 100% payment in advance, the least we expected was that the guide wouldn't come and that we would spend 45 minutes in making calls and a US$ 40 costing call of 20 mins, we were told that the guide's grandpa died and so he couldnt come. Whilst we have deep sympathy for the family of the bereaved but surely Viator knows how to support a guide replacement for a mishap 1 day ahead of tour. We had only 1 day in San Jose in the short tour of Costa Rica and Viator landed up completely messing it up! I would think 10 times before booking via Viator any more!
