Loved this tour/class! - This tour/class was very fun and facinating, especially if you enjoy chocolate, cooking, history, ecology, hands-on creative projects or sustainable local businesses. I don't think it's a great fit for under age 10, because there's a need to avoid contaminating ingredients, and a lot of information on many aspects of chocolate.

A wonderful experience - This was a great experience. My wifecand i went and had thectour to ourselves. The guide was eeally friendly and knowledgable. He told us about the history and cukture of chocolate, and walked us through the process of making it - from the tree to wrappibg a finished bar.
We got to make two bars each, too, under his careful supervision.
An amazing experiencw. Thoroughly recommended.

Tapir Chocolates--not to be missed in Costa Rica! - Mauricio was the best way to end our first Costa Rica trip with my dad. We are both chocolate addicts and Mauricio led the perfect class, being both knowledgeable and full of good humor. It was the experience that made my heart and soul cry for Costa Rica and I didn't want to leave.

Fun time learning and tasting everything chocolate - We had a wonderful experience learning about chocolate, tasting and making our own chocolate bars. Very interactive and fun. I would recommend having one language, as 2 was a little distracting and we felt left out while others were speaking spanish.

Would not recommend - This was a very small operation and the place was difficult to find. The chocolatier was knowledgeable but I tried another class in San Jose and it was for half the price, more popular, much better organized and more enjoyable. I would not recommend this for $50-60 USD. It’s worth $20-30 at most.
