Fun and delicious! - Chef Francisco took us to the local market to start with. We were able to try some of the different fruits and vegetables as we toured and he purchased ingredients for our meal. We learned to make our own tortillas as well as ceviche, salsa, fish tacos, guacamole, and hibiscus margaritas. We had a lot of fun and everything was so delicious!

Highly recommended authentic cozy cooking experience - Thoroughly enjoyed the expertise, caring, attention, and humor of Ricardo. We've taken other cooking classes in Cabo, but we learned the most from this one. We shopped together for fresh food from the market and tortillaria, and then went back to his commercial kitchen and got to work. We made guacamole, green Chile salsa, Mexican salsa, fish tacos, tortillas, shrimp appetizers, and tuna seviche. One in our group (me) was not much of a fish eater, but this was so fresh and tasty! We'll be hosting a party back home to put what we learned into practice! Ricardo and his staff (Pablo and Angel) took very good care of us, from the food to a delicious lime hibiscus margarita. Good caring genuine people. Well done!

Cooking with Cabo - Great experience! We started at a market learning facts about the food we would later be using in our dish. Then made our way to the restaurant to prepare a traditional Mexican soup. Our time was spent chopping vegetables and grinding spices while enjoying a delicious margarita made from hibiscus flower. Our host was very professional yet so personal to the entire group. Would highly recommend this activity. We have done many different types of activities in our travels, and this was a definite favorite.

Fun and educational. - Fransisco made sure we had a great experience, from choosing the best products from the local market to getting us involved with the cooking process (mole). He carefully explained each step and made sure we were all engaged. A fun side trip to the tortilleria was very interesting. The final products of the day were delicious. Highly recommend this tour. A great way to spend a day in San Jose.

Great time and great food - Tamales were AMAZING! The whole experience was so fun. Literally, I may not eat for a couple of days! Thanks Francisco! Plan on a longer timeframe than what is posted, but the time goes fast. Chef was very good at explaining all the steps involved. He takes you shopping for the ingredients that you will use to cook with. Then you go to the tortilla to get fresh tortillas and see how masa is made. A very good experience and well worth the time!

Holy Mole! - We had previously done two taco tours with this company and thought it was time to roll up our sleeves and learn how to cook a few dishes. We especially enjoyed the trip to the market where we learned how to choose the right produce. It was a nice small group where there were lots of opportunities to participate in making the meal. We made guacamole, salsa, verde, and chicken enchiladas with mole sauce. It was an amazing meal. I would highly recommend this experience!

Fun, educational program introducing you to many local cultural things - It’s way better than the marketing description. Learned a lot about local markets, produce, cooking , mixing specialty drinks, and more. Great teaching, really fun participants, wonderful food. It’s long; 11am-4pm so prepare.

Fun with Cooking - Francisco spent some time in the market with us teaching us about the different Mexican ingredients for the Mole that we made and took us to a traditional tortilla making shop to get fresh masa that we could make into our own tortillas. Everything was delicious!

Fantastic food and cooking tips - We consider ourselves adventurous cooks and so when we saw this opportunity we knew we had to take a lesson from an expert. It was fantastic. We met up at a local market where we learned about the ingredients and how to choose them. After a quick stop to get tortillas and masa (complete with tasting a hot off the grill tortilla) we went to the restaurant to cook. We were hands on in preparing the tamales and salsa. The food was fantastic, even with our help 😆. We would do it again, learn more, and eat more amazing food. We highly recommend to anyone who likes food.

Tasty, but way too long! - This tour was a mixed bag for me — and I don’t recommend it unless you drink margaritas, as there is a lot of “dead time” (which the drinkers in the group didn’t seem to mind). We spent one hour in the market and 20 minutes in traffic to get to a Tortilleria and see their equipment. Class should start at Juan More Tacos with groceries pre-purchased — a 5+ hour day is too long! My “good” rating is based on the meal we ultimately ate (chicken mole) and Francisco’s knowledge and sense of humor. There should be discount for participants who don’t drink and/or other beverage options.
