    Your naturalist guide will meet you at your hotel and transport you to our Macal River launch site. From there, you’ll paddle downstream – be on the lookout for iguanas and birds as they settle for the night in their river side roosts. Navigate by the community of Cristo Rey Village, occasionally spotting villagers going about on their way life. Continue downstream as the sun disappears behind the steep hillside… bringing an end to another perfect day just as we approach San Ignacio Town. Enjoy your snacks on the river bank while taking in the serene surroundings just before your guide takes you back to your hotel and says our goodbyes.

Our knowledgeable and friendly guides will provide practical instructions on paddling techniques and water safety before leading you on a spectacular paddling experience under the setting sun.

From there, descend downstream in your canoe, keeping vigilant for iguanas and birds as they perch for the night in their waterfront nests. Travel past the community of Cristo Rey Village, occasionally witnessing villagers carry on their daily routines. Continue your journey downstream as the day’s last light slips away behind the imposing hillsides, signaling the end of another idyllic day as we near the town of San Ignacio. Make the most of your riverbank snacks while soaking in the tranquil environment before your guide accompanies you back to your hotel, bidding you farewell. This serene paddling excursion is suitable for all abilities, from novices to seasoned paddlers.

Great experience with great guides - Great experience with great guides. We saw a lot of wild life. The rum punch at the end of the trip was a highlight.
