Highlights
  • North Beach - We will drive through the City’s historic “Little Italy”, where Joe Dimaggio and Marilyn Monroe took their wedding pictures and sidewalk cafes are perfect for people watching.
  • Chinatown - Drive through the oldest Chinese immigrant community and in the United States and enjoy the bustling street life and unique architecture.
  • Pacific Heights - We will check out the palatial mansions and bay views of the the City’s ritziest neighborhood, including a drive down Billionaire’s Row.
  • Palace of Fine Arts Theatre - Enjoy the Romanesque architecture of this monument from the 1915 Pan-American International Exposition around a serene pond.
  • Golden Gate Bridge - We will stop at one of the many excellent lookouts around the Golden Gate Bridge, usually the civil war-era citadel at Fort Point. We may also cross the bridge if the weather is worthwhile.
  • Golden Gate Park - We will cruise through one of the largest city parks in the country and take in the Music Concourse, Conservatory of Flowers, and more.
  • Haight-Ashbury - Cruise through the historic home of the City’s countercuture, where moderns street musicians, skaters and artists tread in the footsteps of the hippies that made the neighborhood famous in the 60s. If you’re interested, we will make a quick photo stop at the Haight-Ashbury intersection.
  • Twin Peaks - We will enjoy the view from the highest auto-accessible point in town, located at the geographical heart of the City. Vista includes the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges, the downtown skyline, the Pacific Ocean, Mount Diablo, Sutro Tower and much more.
  • The Castro - Drive down through the historic center of San Francisco’s LGBT community and see the fabulous Castro Theater.
  • Gus’s Community Market - We will make a brief stop where the group can buy and eat lunch. Gus’s is a local, family-owned market in the sunny Mission District. They offer a sandwich counter, salad bar, hot food bar, soup, sushi, coffee and tea, beer and wine, and indoor and outdoor seating. The price of lunch is not included in the tour price, but the market has lots of options at all price levels.
  • Vermont Street - Vermont Street on Potrero Hill may have only seven curves, but they are packed into a shorter block than the more famous Lombard Street. This makes Vermont substantially more “crooked”
  • The Embarcadero - Cruise up San Francisco’s waterfront by Chase Centre, the home of the Golden State Warriors, Oracle Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, the Bay Bridge and the Ferry Building.
  • Mission District - Drive through the City’s most colorful neighborhood past sunny Dolores park, the historic Mission Dolores, and more. If you’re interested, we will stop by Clarion Alley or Balmy Alley to check out some of the neighborhood’s famous street art.

Additional Information

Every morning, I create a unique four-hour journey tailored to the small group and the day’s events in the city. Our route is flexible - we’ll invariably visit iconic San Francisco landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge and Twin Peaks, and typically pass through neighborhoods like North Beach, Pacific Heights, Haight-Ashbury, Castro, and the Embarcadero.

We’ll also diverge from the conventional bus routes to potentially wander through the art-filled alleys of the Mission, visit the mosaic-filled stairways in the Sunset, experience the relaxed aura of the Presidio, marvel at our Beaux-Arts City Hall, view the renowned ‘Painted Ladies’ at Alamo Square, or go down the real most twisted street in San Francisco (not Lombard). Our exact itinerary depends on the most suited spots for each day.

Considering it’s an extensive morning, halfway through we’ll pause at a local market where the group can grab a quick meal and soak up the local scene.

We’ll wrap up in the region of Fisherman’s Wharf in the early afternoon. If you have different plans for the afternoon, we can determine a suitable location to conclude our tour.

Great SF Tour! - We had a wonderful overview of San Francisco, a city which my husband and I had visited before, but which our daughters had not. We were able to customize the tour with the things we most wanted to see and Eric wove it all together in a comprehensive jaunt. Additionally, Eric has a great personality and made the trip even more fun! When we go back, we won't hesitate to ask Fogcutter Tours to take us to see the many areas that we didn't have time for in the 2023 trip.

Fantastic way to see San Francisco - Eric from Fogcutter Tours was excellent, as there was only 3 of us, it was practically a private tour. Eric was very polite, friendly and knowledgeable. I had booked him based on previous reviews and he lived up to them. A great way of seeing the different districts of the city.

Spectacular views of the bay and bridge! - This was our second tour in a week with Eric and it was even more special than the first. This was a private tour of the Muir Woods, Marin county and Sausilto. We loved the drive across the bridge and the scenery to and from the Muir Woods was spectacular. The highlight of the tour was the 30 min seaplane ride across the bay from a cute village surrounded by house boats. This was followed by a fresh customized picnic lunch and champagne. Eric was yet again a fantastic host and we really appreciated his company and insights on the tour. We would highly recommend this tour.

Amazing city tour - even for locals! - Eric was informative and entertaining. He truly knows the city well - lots of unusual facts. In terms of scheduling and figuring out the spots our group wanted to see, he was very easy to work with. Since I do most of our family's driving, it was wonderful getting to be a passenger as we explored the city!

Great Tour-Great Tour Guide-San Francisco - Great tour and fantastic tour guide! Evereything right from the minute i enquire until I finally decided to book was first class. I knew right away that I was dealing with someone that wanted to please. Eric was a lot of fun and made an obvious effort to get to know everyone on the tour and make the experience excellent for all of us. He asked about everyone’s visits and journeys and was very engaging with everyone on the trip. I recently visited Rome and used the Viator group and was very disappointed on two excursions and slightly discounted on the other. I had read some reviews on YouTube and there was positive feedback on Eric so it was an easy decision knowing he was doing the tour. With the other groups you don’t know who your getting where as here it’s Eric and I like that. My expectations were high and he easier exceeded those. Great tour, great context, great variety and an all around great experience. trip. Definitely a worthwhile tour and a stellar way to see all the different parts of SF with a tour guide/owner who genuinely puts in the effort to make the experience memorable and stress-free. 10/10 recommend.

Amazing - Eric is a great, friendly, knowledgeable person. Listens to clients to give a more personal tour. Stopped at a great place for us to get lunch. We arrived at the ferry to enjoy Alcatraz having made friends in the group. If you want a more intimate group to see the sights and learn the history of San Francisco I would recommend Eric he made my Birthday unforgettable. Thank you
