A great time! - We had a really excellent Chinatown food tour with Jinny P yesterday, although it was so much more, as Jinny is so knowledgeable about Chinatown, and San Francisco in general. The food was outstanding, tho pace yourself as you do get very full, and gravity is not your friend with a full stomach on some of the hills! Highlights food-wise were the amazing baked pork buns right at the start, and the incredible dim sum at Hang Ah, where they also had very friendly waiters. So, thoroughly recommend this tour, and Jinny was so great we are thinking it would be fun to do some of the other tours offered with her.

Ted B gave us a memorable food and history experience of Chinatown - Ted B was a wonderful tour guide. We’ve done a lot of food tours and he is one of the best guides we ever had! He has a great presentation style that draws you into the history of Chinatown and San Francisco. He was engaging and got to know everyone on the tour. We had a variety of delicious food. With the hills, the tour was well paced so that there was some walking then some talking then some food.

Excellent tour, highly recommend! - This was one of our highlights of San Francisco. We learned more history of the city and specifically Chinatown than we did on history-based tours. And the food! There was so much that we took leftovers! The pace was good, the walking was not too taxing (considering SF hills), and we had a great variety of foods.

SF Chinatown food tour at Xmastime with teens— highly recommend this tour - Michael was a phenomenal tour guide, deftly providing history of the area and the people who live here. Food was great— don’t eat before you go on the tour! Bao, dim sum, spicy noodles, duck, egg custard— fortune cookie factory. Michael also gave great recommendations for food in the area— my daughter’s favorite was the toffee cake (eastern bakery). Highly recommend this tour, go at the beginning of your trip to SF like we did so you get to try the places the guide recommends later.

enjoyable, but long - We enjoyed walking around town and learning the history of the city and neighborhood in general. The guide was knowledgeable and personable. The first stop was a lot of heavy food, which made it difficult to eat more, later. This tour includes a LOT OF FOOD, which is great, but also difficult to enjoy when you are full. Bring a takeaway container and a backpack, I'd suggest. The noodle stop was our favorite, the bowl of Ramen was excellent. The stop at the restaurant for pork was very long and drawn out. We all felt like we lost steam at that point and made the rest of the tour feel sluggish. We enjoyed the fortune cookie stop, but were tired and totally full by the dessert stop for custard pies, which were huge. My kids, aged 10 & 13 enjoyed the information and felt that they had an authentic experience and even referenced some of the information later on. Although they had done food tours in other cities, they felt that this was slow.
