Highlights

Pick up your bike in the Marina District, a neighborhood situated less than 3 miles (4.8 km) away from the Golden Gate Bridge. Your full day bike rental includes a helmet, u-lock, map, and some safety tips along with different sizes of well-maintained bikes that are personally adjusted to fit your height. Depending on your destination, you will be provided with bike routes to avoid San Francisco hills and traffic.

The mostly flat bike path to the Golden Gate Bridge is just three blocks away from the Lombard Street bike shop. Ride along the scenic waterfront with outstanding views of San Francisco Bay. Pass by the Great Meadow Park at Fort Mason, Crissy Field, the Palace of Fine Arts, and Fort Point en route to the bridge, which leads to Vista Point and the Marin Headlands.

Upon reaching the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge, cycle mostly downhill about 2 miles (3.2 km) for dining and shopping in the waterfront town of Sausalito. From here, you can catch a ferry back to Fisherman’s Wharf or the Ferry Building with your bike (own expense). The entire trip takes about 3–4 hours. Alternatively, bike around the city and visit other San Francisco attractions such as Golden Gate Park and Union Square.

Great location, great bikes, epic SF experience. - What an awesome experience, electric biking around San Francisco and the beautiful Marina, Presidio, Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Park, and so much more. Lily, Barry and Jason were courteous, knowledgeable and super helpful during our family trip. The bikes were awesome, and much needed navigating the hills of SF. Their location was perfect and was super close to the Marina waterfront; perfect start for our ride. I’m glad there are many parking garages around the location too as we drove in. Definitely going to do this again

Highly recommended - I found Bike & View by googling when I searched for bike rental for one day. The online rental process is very easy and convenient. The price paid is cheaper than renting the bike at the store. They give you together with the bike a lock and helmet. You should return the bike at the latest at 4.45 pm which is enough time to take the bike at 10.30am, cross the bridge, have a lunch at Sausalito, enjoy the city a couple of hours and come back by crossing the bridge either by ferry or by bike.

Enjoyed the electric bikes! - We decided to reserve the electric bikes and rode over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito, where we had lunch on the water, then rode back. I was worried about the battery power lasting the entire trip, but they were more than 50% charged when we returned them later that evening. The traffic was a little scary at times, as was the wind on the bridge on our return, but all in all it was a great experience. We all enjoyed it!

Perfect for Exploring the City - It was very easy to book online and they set the bikes out for us, keeping it mostly contactless except when we needed to sign a form. They provide helmets and little bags on the handlebars to store things, along with a bike lock that was pretty sturdy. You rent them for 24 hours and can go wherever you want, unlike some of the other companies in the area.

Perfect for us - Two very inexperienced cyclists wanted to experience cycling over the Golden Gate Bridge on a visit to SAN Francisco. There were so many bike rental places to choose from but we decided on Bike & View due to its proximity to our hotel and reasonable price. We chose well. Staff member Tommy could tell I was a little nervous and kindly put me at ease by explaining everything. Helping me with my bike and giving good advice re directions and safety. We had a great bike ride over the bridge and was so glad we did it. Would recommend Bikeand View and a big thanks to Tommy

Bike Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito - Rental bikes worked good. When we returned pointed out the bike chain had come off twice on one bike due to a bent part. The lady who greeted us apologized and offered us free water or Gatorade for the inconvenience. She couldn’t have handled it any better. Will be back!

Don't use Bike & View Rentals - We were disappointed with the condition of the bikes. All three had some issues. One squeeked the entire time, all three were difficult or not able to change gears at all. The person behind the counter was not very friendly at first. He loosened up slightly after awhile. The only positive thing to mention was his last minute bit of info. regarding the option to drop off the bikes in Sausalito for a one way trip, after our surprise that they close at 6:45pm. This incurs and $12 per bike fee, but well worth avoiding the headache of hauling the bikes back on the ferry. Riding the backs back to our initial starting point was not an option for us. They say it's mostly downhill on certain parts, but this is not a trip for the occasional biker. Dress warm, it's very windy and cold on the bridge. There was also construction on the biker side, so that left very little room for two way traffic with some crazy speed racer bikers coming through. The signs say 15 miles per hour, but that did not hold for some. We reserved and paid online so we were unable to see the bikes till we picked them up. I would recommend paying the extra on site so you are able to see what you are paying for. I'm sure not all rental companys are the same. This is only in reference to Bike & View on Lombard St.
