Highlights
  • Hard Rock Cafe - Back in 1971, Americans Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton opened the first Hard Rock Cafe in London. Their landlord didn’t think they could pull it off, so he granted them a three-month lease.

How wrong that landlord was. Today, the franchise - which includes cafes, casinos and hotels - can be found in more than 63 countries. The franchise owns the world’s greatest collection of music memorabilia, and you can see it on display at its locations around the globe.

We received a glass as a toast - It was one of the few restaurants open when we arrived at Pier 39 (in winter restaurants and stores close early, so be aware of that). We were well looked after, the snacks were good and we even got a free glass!

Lunch at Hard Rock - It was first visit to this particular Hard Rock Cafe, and I just walked in from the street for lunch with absolutely no waiting time. I was shown to a great table between the bar and stage, and as usual enjoyed the food and drink on offer. The service was swift, friendly and professional. I received an $8 from the Unity loyalty scheme which I didn't expect, so that was a bonus. I'd imagine at peak times due its location, the cafe can become very busy, so it's probably best to book in advance.

Good food - My wife and I were in SFO for just a short weekend and I wanted to take her around to see the sights so we started with Pier 39. After walking around we went to the HRC just to get a snack and some beers. We sat ourselves at the bar and it was fairly slow for a Friday afternoon. We ordered a round and the chicken nachos. The bartender was friendly and the food was good (very large portion). It was weird how incredibly cold it was though. It was about 40F outside and they had their doors open so those of us at the bar were wearing hats and coats which was odd. There is a lot of memorabilia to see and they also have a nice gift shop - my wife got a hoodie (probably cause she was freezing).

The normal hard rock experience but try the salmon - amazing! - Came here twice in the week were in San Fran as my teen daughter loves it. Sad to say it wasn't the best hard rock experience I have ever had but it was not terrible as well. The first time we came it took forever to get served even though it was not too busy. Asked for sauce which never came and had to ask again, waited ages to get servers attention so we could order more drinks. The fajitas were terrible but that could have been just a bad cut of meat. The second time we came we had a better dining experience. Service was still very slow but slightly better when needing more drinks, it was also much quieter. I had the salmon which was amazing, I had to slow myself down from eating it so fast. In summary, the normal hard rock experience and it was generally pretty good.

Very poor. - First Stella was flat. 2nd beer flat. Steak burger pink as in raw. Took it away. By the time one was cooked properly I had eaten my meal. Worst one we have been to. 7th post I have read about flat draught beer. The lines need cleaning.

Attention to order and rude staff - Incompetent and unkind staff! It took them 15 minutes to give us a table even though the place was half empty! They got the order wrong and still charged us the cost of the uneaten hamburger on the bill. We pointed it out to them and they told us they would deduct it from the bill but instead the charge included the uneaten hamburger! The food was a bit cheap and the atmosphere was cold! The dirty bathroom.

Very disappointing - Wow! We only went here for a drink and the reception we received from the bar man was so rude we only stayed for one drink and then left. I have never experienced service like this before at the Hard Rock. Was very disappointing and can categorically say we will never go back here. Very disappointing

Bad sevice. - Really really bad sevice. I felt because I was paying with a voucher I was not given the same kind of sevice everyone else would get. And the wait time for my food was way to long. I was there for 2 hours trying to get sevice. Do not make my mistake and go to this business. They are bad with sevice.

Avoid avoid avoid - Overcharged for a cocktail, charged an extra 4.99 for a keepsake glass that wasn’t wanted. Rude barman, slow service, bar area was filthy, toilets were worse, we were going to order food but one look at the cleanliness in this dump changed our minds, avoid like the plaque

Poor food & bone in the chicken! - We visited the Hard Rock Cafe at Fisherman's Wharf San Francisco and the food was poor, at best. The service was fine but the food was terrible. My "Messi Chicken Burger" was overcooked, tasted weird and inedible so I left it. Fries were fine. My wife had the chicken tenders which were ok until she bit into the last one and found quite a big bone. We informed the guy who served us who in turn and to his credit informed his boss who did offer to replace the meal but it was all but eaten by then so my wife was full so a refund offer would have been appreciated but this was not offered.
