Cool dad jokes - We had Brian who was very personable with a “dad” sense of humour that we found hilarious (although not from our exterior reaction). He’s very Knowledgeable about history of the area adding a personal perspective to a lot of the historic events. The food was delish and I loved the tea tasting and banter between Brian and our host there. Bought my favourite whit Jasmin tea that I’m really hoping I can take back into NZ. Very enjoyable - thank you :)

Very entertaining trip in Chinatown - We were on a trip of Chinatown with Scott. There were four of us. Even though we live nearby, Scott told us many interesting historical facts that made the trip more enjoyable. Scott gave us many insights into neighborhoods in SF. The food was great but the tea tutorial really captured the spirit of Chinatown. May taught us that we were doing tea all wrong all these years. What a revelation!

Chinatown tour in SF - Scott L. was our tour guide and he was excellent. His knowledge of Chinatown and his insight to history made this a memorable experience. We had great food with Peking Duck, egg custards and Bao’s along the way. The final stop of having a tea tasting experience really opened our eyes to an old beverage enjoying it very differently than normal tea drinking. May was very helpful and so pleasant to us uninformed customers. But the best time was seeing and having Scott explain all the significance of Chinatown and all that it brought in historical and social significance. Well worth the time and money to enjoy while visiting SF

A great day in the REAL Chinatown - Andre was the best. He kept our group engaged for over 3 hours in the sometimes pouring rain! That speaks to his passion for the city and knowledge of the history and food. Book this tour if you want to see, smell and taste the real Chinatown. You won’t be disappointed!! We also came away with some thoughtful souvenirs as well as memories and photos from the businesses he shared with us. Thanks Andre!

Disapointing end to an enjoyable tour - A really disappointing end to an enjoyable tour. My wife has a severe peanut allergy and we informed the tour company and our guide of this ahead of the food tour. Our guide assured that none of the stops would have peanuts except for one sauce at a restaurant. We still double checked at each stop just to make sure. When we got to the final stop which was the largest meal, our guide assured us again that ‘to her knowledge’ nothing contained peanuts before leaving us to start another tour. As the food was served we double checked with a waiter who told us that everything served was cooked in peanut oil. This was incredibly disappointing as despite all the forewarning and reminders at each stop, our guide did not actually bother to check or talk to the restaurant that she was in constant contact with all day. This could have had severe consequences if we took the guide at her word. It’s not a problem if food has peanuts in it, but being told that there are none when there actually is very dangerous and disappointing.
