Additional Information

Participants have the opportunity to kayak towards the La Jolla Ecological Reserve in the company of skilled guides who will lead them to different snorkeling locations within the reserve (the chosen spot is subject to safety considerations and may vary from day to day.)

Upon reaching the selected snorkeling site, the guides will secure all the kayaks together using a rope, and employ a sea anchor to keep them steady. This allows the guests to disembark and take a dive for snorkeling in the enchanting waters of the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. After finishing the snorkeling activity, guests row back to the starting point. The entire adventure lasts two hours.

Although previous snorkeling experience is not necessary, it is appreciated. Participants must, however, be competent swimmers in the ocean to join.

Best guide ever - It was crazy cold and after a storm so visibility in the water was nil but Brodie made the trip memorable. He was knowledgeable and energetic and most importantly, kept us safe in choppy waters. He found us a beautiful kelp forest that we were able to snorkel in when everything else was not going to happen. We loved it and we are ready to go back in October for ideal conditions with Brodie! Also the man has a masters in Environmental law! God bless him!!

Two Hour La Jolla Kayak and Snorkel Tour - Andrew was great and we really enjoyed the tour. When the kids got cold in the ward, he adapted and took us to see sea lions with the extra time. Great trip!

Fun times! - Excellent service and friendly staff, very knowledgeable and kind! Noah and Justin were both very good to the entire group! Unfortunately, the water was a little less than ideal with the wind and visibility. But that is no reason to go on the tour!

Fabulous La Jolla Experience - The staff was friendly and organized and so enthusiastic! The tour was like a well-oiled machine and the tour guides seemed to be enjoying the experience, which heightened our enthusiasm. I would highly, highly recommend this experience. I’m 53 and not in super shape, and I kayaked with my 8 year old nephew- but I felt strong and energized and invigorated. Super fun- a highlight of our trip. Also… I lost my phone (and ID and ATM card) in - dry bag in the ocean and a diver found it and they are mailing it back to me. I mean- how amazing is that?!

Fun kayaking and sightseeing for family - Our tour guides Justin and Andrew were great. Everyday California gave us good updates before our trip. The equipment was good and we even were able to get wetsuits. We got to see lots of fish, sea lions and dolphins swam passed our kayaks.

Just rent kayaks - First of all, our guide was amazing as always, but this is the second trip where we have not been able to do what is part of the tour. Last year, we never got to enter the sea caves. This year, we were not able to snorkel due to the conditions of the water. Both times, there is never mention of any type of refund. This time, our guide tried finding a spot with visibility to no avail. To me, it would make more sense to rent kayaks as opposed to spending money on a tour (you won’t go on) in addition to the wetsuits etc.
