Highlights
- Self Realization Fellowship Hermitage & Meditation Gardens - We will stop at the beautiful and historical meditation gardens founded in 1938 but Paramahansa Yogananda. We will be able to walk through the gardens if desired!
Edit; due to the Covid-19 pandemic we are unable to go into the gardens but will resume our walks through the gardens as soon as possible. In the meantime we will stop at the border of this property to enjoy the stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.
- Del Mar Race Track - The Del Mar Racetrack has been the central hub of Del Mar since it’s inception by Bing Crosby in 1936. The fairgrounds have hosted the Del Mar Fair (aka San Diego County Fair), thoroughbred horse races, and for two years during WWII the Del Mar Racetrack was closed to use the space to construct parts for B-17 Bombers.
- VG Donut & Bakery - VG Donuts is an iconic donut shop/bakery that has been owned and operated by the same family since 1969 (three generations!). We can stop in and grab a fresh donut if desired. Also nearby are the classic Pipes Cafe, as well as Besta-Wan Pizza (Encinitas’ oldest still existing restaurant!)
- San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve - This lagoon is one of San Diego’s largest wetland at 979-acres. This ecological reserve is primarily a shallow-water estuary, formed where the Escondido and La Orilla Creeks meet the Pacific Ocean. I love showing guests this portion of the tour at the lowest or highest tides, as they can come back 6 hours later to see how different the reserve looks with the tidal differences.
- Fletcher Cove Park - Fletcher Cover Park is a local’s secret for basketball, beach access, and a playground for kids. There is also a lifeguard station here and a ramp for easy access to the water. Public restrooms and showers here make this a perfect spot for a family beach day. Around Christmas time they also put up a beautiful Christmas Tree with ornaments for everyone to see and enjoy.
- Moonlight State Beach - Moonlight State Beach is a huge attraction for families. With firepits, volleyball courts, plenty of sand, and a concession stand for snacks, there is something for EVERYONE. We will take you right past it so you know where to go cool off after the tour with a dip in the ocean.
- Encinitas Boathouses - The Encinitas Boat Houses are an iconic funky spot in Encinitas. These Boat Houses have never felt the salt of the sea, but you would never guess when looking at them! Constructed from an old bathhouse and hotel, these homes are rented out for a premium. While we cannot enter the houses currently, there are talks of turning them into a museum/historical landmark open for tours in the future.

This journey will guide visitors through 4 distinctive neighborhoods in Northern San Diego County; Del Mar, Solana Beach, Cardiff By-The-Sea, and Encinitas. What sets this tour apart is covering nearly 15 miles in a span of 2.5 hours on efficient and user-friendly electric bicycles. All the bikes we offer have varying levels of pedal support, and even options to engage a throttle.
We offer bicycles that can accommodate riders who are 5’0’ and taller, and we haven’t forgotten the kids! We have in our possession two (2) Rad Power Radwagon cargo bikes which can seat up to two youngsters. Furthermore, we have child seats that can support children up to 45 pounds which can be fixed onto our electric bikes.
Our tour guides are well-versed in the North County landscape and can provide insights on local food, beer and wine selections, artists, art exhibits, popular surf areas, and a whole lot more. If there’s something specific you’re keen on seeing, doing, or learning about in the region, feel free to ask us!
Please be aware that a majority of the biking will be conducted on streets or within bike lanes.
- All people operating the bikes must know how to ride a bike.

We are located at 243 North Highway 101 (Solana Beach - the Boardwalk). We are in Suite number 5, just to the left of the horse statue. You will see our signage for "Coastal Ebike Tours and Rentals" as well as "Cal Coast Adventures Solana Beach". Come on into the shop and we will get started!

Fantástico! - We had a great tour with Justin. He showed us a lot of highlights in the area with bits of trivia that are always fun. This type of tour is a great way to cover lots of ground in a limited time. The eBike was a great ride … easy to operate, responsive, comfortable… and Justin is super safety conscious, which considering all the traffic, was very helpful! Let’s have donuts next time!!! :)

So much fun! - Enjoyed our leisurely bike tour along the coast from DelRey to Encinitas-our guide showed us several spots along the way that we didn’t know about-would highly recommend this excursion :)

Very knowledgeable guide! - Justin did an excellent job with our tour. It was our first time on e-bikes and he was very helpful and explained things well. He also shared fun facts about the area and provided dining suggestions.
Only (minor) drawback was dodging traffic; would be even more fun on a less-traveled route.

The ride was breathtaking... - The ride was breathtaking on a windy day! Loved stopping and visiting the gardens in Encinitas. Our guide was knowledgeable and catered to our desires for the ebike experience.

EBike Tour Guide - Justin our tour guide was fantastic. We had an amazingly experience using their E-Bikes. Beautiful scenery in concert with knowledge from Justin about the area. Was about a 2 hour bike ride. Enjoyed every minute.

Fun for the whole family - A fun tour for our entire family with kids aged 2 and 4 on added bike seats and parents and grandparents on e-bikes. The guide was knowledgeable and the scenery was great!

Just do it! - Our tour guide, Justin, gave good directions throughout the tour, and was very personable. We stopped at various points of interest. The views were gorgeous! The bike lanes and trails kept us safe and comfortable. The bikes were easy and powerful to use. We highly recommend this tour to get a good overview of the area. Great value for bikes with tour.

Incredible e-bike tour! - A perfect afternoon spent with Jeff and Justin! We did a 10 person e-bike tour for 2 hours as part of our corporate team offsite and it was incredible - extraordinary views and weather and awesome guides. 10/10 recommend this for any size groups - and ask for Justin or Jeff!
