DANAUS: BIODIVERSITY IN FULL - one of the best experiences we had. DON'T FORGET TO TAKE THE GUIDED TOUR. You can do the self-guided trail, but you'll miss 80% of the wonders there are to see and learn about. The guide is also in love with biodiversity and the preservation of the resource: we learned a lot. He also took some dream photos of us: super complete. The activity is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Night tour with Elias at Ecocentro Danaus - My family and I booked a night tour with Elias and were so pleased with the experience. This was our second tour with him. He is a knowledgeable and dedicated guide, well versed and in the flora and fauna. We experienced a rich diversity of night creatures.

Sloths, Kaimans, Frogs and many more animals - The tour was amazing, we saw Sloths, blue jean frogs, kaimans, butterflies, birds and many more! You could see how much the ecocenter cares about the environment and the tour guide told us so many fascinating facts, we also made super photos through the guides telescope!!

Highlight of our La Fortuna trip - Elias is a treasure. Our family, with a 9 year-old and a 6 year-old, met Elias for a private tour of the Ecocentro Danaus reserve near La Fortuna. Elias was friendly and warm, and an absolute expert on everything we encountered on the tour (and even some things that we didn’t encounter!). We enjoyed the tour so much, we booked a return night tour on-the-spot. It’s clear that Elias has a deep respect for the amazing plants and animals of Costa Rica. It was great to see our two young kids engaging with Elias, asking questions, helping find animals (with flashlights that Elias provided), and delighting in his many stories. We really appreciated his patience while helping our kids take pictures of the creatures we encountered. We had many great experiences in Costa Rica. Elias’ tours were a highlight and we feel super lucky to have met him.

Amazing Night Tour - We had an amazing time on the night tour with Elias. He was extremely knowledgeable on all the wildlife in the area! He has an incredible eye for all the small creatures, showing us various animals that we would never have seen on our own! He even stayed an extra 15 minutes to try and find us some sloths! We found 2! This was one of our favorite activities in La Fortuna. Would definitely do this again!

Great fun, great guide, highly recommended. - We had an amazing time here. Walter was so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. We saw everything from Red Eyed Tree Frogs, Poison Dart Frogs, Glass Frogs, Butterflies, Leaf Cutter Ants, a number of bugs (from a safe distance!) and finally a Whip Snake! We're not the best with spiders but this really wasn't a problem and we had a great time hunting around in the forest by torchlight - great fun, great guide, highly recommended.

AMAZING! - We thoroughly enjoyed our bird watching tour at Ecocentro Danaus with Elias as our guide. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about birds. He has studied them since he was a teenager and was very good at spotting them and explaining their behavior. He spotted them right away with a scope and he helped us get some nice photos through it. Not only did we see birds but sloths, frogs, and lizards as well. After the tour. We enoyed fresh pineapple and coffee. This was one of the highlights of our trip. We highly recommend.

Wonderful experience at the Night Tour - I am STUNNED by this place and our tour guide, Elias', professionalism, knowledge, and kindness. He helped all of us through the nighttime forest and helped us spot wildlife in a safe manner. We learned so much about the environment in La Fortuna and the animals that live there! Thank you so much Elias for such a wonderful and educational night of hiking and wildlife!! We are so lucky to have met you! Of note, if you're scared of bugs this tour might not be for you!! Lots of insects, amphibians and reptiles!!

Fun quick adventure - Our guide was fabulous! Very informative. He was able to find some amazing night animals. The tweens and teens both enjoyed it.
