Great and engaging tour! - My 7 yr old and I took this a tour with Gexel. She was warm, congenial and informative. The tour is very interactive. We got to be hands on with the process of making chocolate from opening a ripe cacao to grinding the roasted seed to adding sugar and tasting! Of course it rained but we were partly sheltered and it added to the rainforest experience. We loved it!!!

Kids said this was the... - Kids said this was the best part of la Fortuna! Of course we all loved eating as much chocolate as we could, but we also learned a lot and were thoroughly entertained by Keyllor and Tom! Thank you for a fantastic experience.

This was a great activity... - This was a great activity for a rainy day! There was so much to learn about chocolate! It was educational and so much fun! Roberto our guide was witty and made the tour so fun! We got to taste chocolate with various spices and toppings at the end. They also had a great store with reasonably priced chocolate from a variety of local brands!

Amazing experience, 10/10 would do it again - This is easily one of my favorite activities in La Fortuna. The guide Keilo, aka chapo guapo, is one of my favorite people now. So much personality and so much knowledge shared with the guests about the history of chocolate and the process in making fresh, quality chocolate straight from the plant. I really loved this and I didn’t know what to expect going into it. I highly recommend that people try this, even if you are not a big chocolate fan, but ESPECIALLY if you are a chocolate fan.

Chocolate tasting - There is a history lecture about the discovery and harvesting of chocolate before any tasting. There is some interactive fun during the lecture but it’s a little long, especially for smaller children. Staff knowledgeable and friendly. The Chocolate tasting was fun . This is not a walking tour but bring bug spray because it’s outside. There is a very small gift shop that sells some chocolate and a few T-shirts.

Not super engaging - The tour was pretty basic. Based on the description we expected a more hands on experience. Our guide was knowledgeable, but not super captivating or engaging. Our kids got bored several times and it did seem to lag in moments. It was a nice little tour, but not our favorite stop in La Fortuna.
