Excellent night hike! - We had an amazing time! Raul was a fantastic guide who educated us and entertained at the same time. Very knowledgeable and great sense of humor. Saw spider monkeys, a skunk, various birds, frogs, lizards, arachnids and of course the iconic red eyed frog. We saw two of them mating and Raul took amazing close-ups for us with each person’s phone. Would highly recommend this tour and the night walk experience as a whole!

Best Bday Present - As a couple of “locals” we really enjoyed this experience! Best decision ever, I chose this as a birthday present for my girlfriend and could not have picked better! We saw a bunch if animals and our tour guide Kai was full of fun facts!

Night life in the rainforest - Our guide Brandon was very knowledgeable on the animals in the area. He was a great guide! We were able to see lots of frogs, a few spiders, a couple headlamp beetles, and a snake and scorpion. The hike was more difficult as it was raining and the steps were uneven and slick. This tour was the least favorite for my kids (ages 7 & 11) due to the darkness. We all had flashlights but it was dark in the rainforest. I would recommend this tour but be aware it is dark and difficult if it is raining.

Brandon was amazing! One of the highlights of our Costa Rica trip! - This tour was one of the highlights of our entire Costa Rica trip! Brandon, our guide, was super knowledgeable and helpful. We traveled with my two kids (ages 8 and 5) and he went out of his way to make sure they were included in the info shared and that we could find most of the animals they were looking for. We saw snakes, a sloth, spiders, and several different species of frogs and toads. The red eyed tree frogs were the best! Thank you so much, Brandon, for being so good to our family and to my kids!

A brilliant introduction to the wildlife of Costa - An amazing first excursion in Costa Rica. We did this on our first night and it was brilliant. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we were a small group of four. Head torches are supplied and understandably flash photography is not allowed. We saw frogs, snakes, a couple of sleeping birds and a tarantula who got away before I got a chance to photograph him 🤣. The trip was well organised with pick up and drop off at our hotel with great communication. A must do trip.

Interesting experience with wildlife in the evening - The guide was very good and shared a lot of info with us (nice group size of 8). The animals viewed included spiders, frogs, toads, snakes, and other insects. I have seen many of these creatures at home, but the narrative was still very informative.

Still Nice on a Rainy Evening - The pickup and drop off from and to the hotel was seemless and the guide was very nice. Unfortunately, it was raining the evening of the tour, so we didn't see a lot of animals. The red eyed tree frog was the highlight of the evening!

Night tour with little wow factor - This tour is expensive for what you get to see. We saw frogs, toads, the odd lizard, insects/spiders and a couple of small sleeping birds. We saw a possum briefly but most of the trail has dense foliage either side so little chance to see many snakes, mammals or larger birds resting in the canopy. Had much better and cheaper trips elsewhere in CR like Tortuguero.

Unprofessional but enjoyable - This tour is a beautiful and relatively easy hike. Unfortunately, our guide, while friendly, spent much more time on his cell phone than he did scanning for animals. He walked well ahead of the group at times and knew less about the plants than some members of the group. We suspect he was either in a rush or lacking the expertise required to host a successful nature tour. Additionally, The flashlights provided were dim. Half of what we saw was missed by the guide and pointed out by members of our party. Some of us had our own flashlights, which helped a lot. I would recommend this tour to folks who are looking for a fun night walk and are able to manage their expectations. With a keen guide, this walk would be a 5/5 as the path is really lovely and the animals are certainly there. If you're able to spot things on your own- you'll enjoy this for sure! Helpful tips- wear long pants, closed toe shoes, and your own headlamp or good quality flashlight. Don't wear the headlamp on your head though- or you might catch a moth in the face!
